How do I lay the tile?! HELP!!

Can’t decide on the way to lay this tile in my entryway/foyer. Help!!!!!!

That is a really big decision. Try taking a bunch of tiles and lay them on a diagonal and take a pic...Do the same with laying them in a straight pattern again, take a pic... Do a large area. I have a galley kitchen that opens into a breakfast room as well. We did cream tiles 10x10 and layer them in a straight pattern. I tend to favor the straight pattern on all flooring even on wood floors. Galley kitchens sure are a challenge.

It's hard for me as a non-tile-installer to explain-they're textured but when the grout is wiped off it will come right out of the ridges. I've seen them installed, the distressing was still very evident. I'd be mad if it was lost too!

Overlap the existing seams glue and screw or use ring shank flooring nails and it will be fine. Be sure to re-nail it or screw down existing subfloor before you put down the underlayment.

From the photos there isn't a big difference. I would go with the straight lay. It prevents excess waste.

Straight because you have cross hatch in design. Saves material too. Just dry lay it out so centered nicely.

Diagonal, looks more modern, contemporary

Not a pro. Because the other tile is straight, I’d do it diagonal. The straight sample picture above just looks funny to me, since the tiles are so different from one another.
