@Debbi Branka I have no accents at all yet. Haven't purchased anything for the kitchen. Most of the those items will be out of view though. I think the only thing on the counter tops will be a few bowls and maybe a dutch oven. That's it. I like the idea of doing red, or even orange with some green. I think the orange/green with white would warm it up. But I'm not sold on anything just yet. About to check out Fireclay and Heath ceramic tiles. Thank you. @Linelle Thank you. I guess I don't need to pick it right now. I just want it finished already. It's a major house reno that's been going on for a year now. I was considering just sticking a piece of tempered glass behind the range until I decide. Only thing is, I know myself- if I do that, I'll never get around to picking out the backsplash.. @Oaktown Brittanicca (hate that extra "c") and Ella are very similar. Reason I picked both is because the whiteness and pattern of Brittanicca looked very good with the white and high gloss of the cabinets. The Ella is more grey and just looked dingy in comparison. BUT, Ella looked gorgeous with the the soft grey of the island. Much more so than Brittanicca. What's interesting is, since there's something like 36" between the island and closest cabinet, you can't even tell they're different colors since you don't focus on both at the same time. Surprisingly, they worked extremely well together. I considered doing the brittanica as a backsplash but there's not going to be enough left from the second slab to do it. The other Brit. slabs are from different lots and I didn't like the pattern. I do like black knobs and originally wanted to get them. I'm still considering black and have a feeling I may go in that direction after everything else is done. Thanks for the pics, I really love the shelving in the second one- something I've been thinking about. Decided I'm gonna do it.

With your dark floors, I like white cabinets and different backsplash than the countertop. But with the 5 boys, maybe white would be a constant headache. The countertop seems to have a lot of movement so I think I would stay away from a backsplash with too much going on. I'm not sure I would do wood top. (One of my boys decided to carve into his solid wood nightstand.) With 5 boys, yes, stainless is dreaded. Good move with moving the microwave, ranch hood and building out the cabinet around the fridge. I put in Cambria Brittanicca in the Houzz search area and found some really nice pictures. We are aiming for a more modern & transitional look. Will it be too overwhelming to use 2.25” inch mitered edge IMO, yes. That is if you want to lean more modern.
