Remodeling Building a Home Design Dilemma

Need help layout music/bonus room

We are building a detached garage and will have a space above that we plan to finish.

I have said when you marry the guy in the band then you get the drum set in your bedroom! I’m looking forward to creating this man cave/music room and a fun place ... and ....getting the drum set out of our bedroom :)

I need suggestions and help on layout ideally for the following:

drum set/music area * priority!!
bathroom debating to include shower
bar area with fridge/sink
tv
closet
extra space for guests even if pull out couch etc
bonus would be space for treadmill/workout area.

Here is basic layout and measurements.. then can add walls from here.

I appreciate help and advice in advance!

I’ve been playing around with this but cannot seem to get a good flow and layout.

IMO don’t designate a bedroom at all. When you say music room are drums the only instruments or does the band bring stuff with them ? I would use the sapce you have for the bedroom for the workout space make sure you have a TV in there and mirrors on one wall if weights are part of the stuff. IMO the bathroom really only needs a shower and then you need some furniture for the band to hang out on and one of those pieces could be a sofa bed . so that sofa some chairs, A nice bar area where you show it , nice and close to the plumbing and I would add a small DW too

The arrangement in #4 looks comfortable & welcoming. I think the leather chair looks better near a wall to anchor it since it has such a large profile. I think you are right - the room needs to be pulled together with colors. You could consider reupholstering the chairs in a fabric that picks up the color of the leather chair & the gold curtains. Maybe add red ball fringe to the inside edges of the curtains? Again, you are right - the color of the sofa contributes nothing to the other colors. YOu could try a slipcover, again repeating the color of the leather chair or the curtains. Once you have your fabrics you can determine a paint color that picks ups one of your dominant colors - just softer. I think the table lamps look better at the ends of the sofa rather than popping up in the middle of the wall cutout. You really have some nice 'bones' here - it just wants a little refining.

Layout ideas needed for our bonus room

We have a bonus room over our garage and want to start using it. It's quickly becoming a crap trap! LOL We want this space to be multipurpose (media/game/guest room). A place for my older teens (19 and 16) to hang out in and a place for out of town guests to crash. It's a blank canvass. We have an idea of what we want to put in the room, just don't know how we should lay it all out. We have a queen-sized bed but would prefer a murphy bed, A 50" tv already installed on a wall. I'm open to moving it, DH on the other hand probably isn't. We also have a large projection screen and projector. And a foosball table.We will want some type of couch and a small table with chairs for board games. One of the twin mattress I am going to turn into a rolling ottoman. It can be used for lounging, as a coffee table with trays or just a bed to crash on. Our room has 6 small windows and one larger window 3x6 for natural light. I also need suggestions for paint color. I'm not sure if I want to keep it light and bright for our guests or go darker for a more media/game room effect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What's below it? Is any plumbing roughed in? HVAC? Depending on what's under it, might be issues with noise transmission, hvac issues... Many times these are an afterthought that need electric heaters and mold/mildew can be an issue with no air exchange (since we are talking about potential bathroom) Do you want to finish it like a suite with its own bathroom? Might be cool to do a half kitchen up there to make it like a mini apartment (guest suite) then it would be very versatile as a home theater room, music/hobby room, guest suite, or just another cool ass bedroom

Patricia... bathroom only a shower or doesn’t need a shower? But figured it would need a toilet...
Reason I did that if we did turn into and other guest space or future owners someone could stay over there and shower...

Devon: I’m totally open to ideas... the base layout we have is the picture in the main post. We can add or not add walls from there.

How about making that bedroom area with a murphy bed? So you can use the space for workouts or other activities when you dont have guests.
Also, would it make sense to make that bar area a kitchenette?
And can you add more windows esp to the long wall?
