window treatment(s) for a window & slider in the same room

These 2 windows are immediately visible when entering the bedroom. There are actually 2 more windows but not in visible proximity of these 2. I am considering using plantation shutters on the 3 windows, but then I'm stumped with what window treatment to use for the slider. Sorry, pictures are dark, walls are just primed, curtains had to remain for privacy...total overhaul underway. Thanks for the help.

You could do room darkening curtain panels. Pick a color close to the wall color and have them completely open during the day so they blend with the wall.

You could also do pull down blinds with a narrow valance. Again, close to the wall color so the valance would blend during the day.

Hi. Your window is much prettier than mine. Mine is plain. The smaller window you have to the far left looks similar to what I have on either side of my slider, only mine are a bit larger. I don't know how to post pictures, but I will see if my husband can help me with that when he gets a chance. Depends on the budget, but I would put slider/plantation shutters on that slider door. Takes up less room than drapery and more control over light. With all the heavy, bulky furniture, I would try eliminating one piece and adding a chair if that seating is even needed. You didn't ask about that, but puffy furniture gives a cramped feeling to most spaces. If the budget doesn't allow for this sliding glass door plantation shutter arrangement, then keep drapery very simple and don't use grommet style because they take up 6-8" of additional space in the room to slide back and forth. The width of the large doors are 141”, the shorter doors are 71” wide. The rolls of fabric to make each panel are super long, the doors are 94” tall. It’s a very sturdy fabric, more like a panel but still translucent. The panels are about 23” each and you can stack as many as 4. Here’s the 3 track from our CA house. IKEA currently sells a curtain track system called Vidga. Ours is called Kvartal, you might find it on EBay. Good luck and aloha!

Since you have the cranks on the windows and need access to them, I wouldn't put anything there. Valances can be old fashioned and your windows are more contemporary. If I didn't need privacy, I would forego window treatments. The views are nice, but if you don't want to see the deck and its furnishings, try an inside mounted semi-sheer cafe curtain on the tall window. That still allows a view of the trees, but will block the deck and railings from sight. Add color to the kitchen with some colorful hand towels, pot holders, crocks/cookie jars/canisters, a kettle or small appliance. If you limit the items to a few decorative accessories, you can change them out when you feel the mood or the seasons change. Pops of orange A bit of lemon Turquoise

deegw....thanks. So far I have side panels in both the approx. wall color and a coordinating color to try. We'll see. Just me, but I'm not sold on a pull down shade on a sliding door. Just seems a bit physically cumbersome....but I appreciate the photo and the idea.

eld6161.........thanks. I too am in Florida. My second shutter vendor was here yesterday to measure and price, etc. The first told me I would find the slider "cumbersome", the second disagreed....and offered a reg. slider or a bi-fold slider. Did you have that option and did you use a bi-fold design anywhere? I do see where it would allow in more light, balance the visual appearance of the door when both open, but I hadn't even been expecting that option and I am typically NOT a bi-fold fan.....thx for any additional info you can share.
