Comments (20)Nasty. I've never been officially diagnosed with migraines, so I just call mine "sick headaches," but I've never had to deal with anything as horrendous as what you described. I can't even imagine. I can give you some more input if you and your doctor decide you need medication, though. A couple of years ago, my psychiatrist prescribed Topomax for me as a mood stabilizer in addition to my other medications. I've been taking it ever since. The thing about Topomax is that its primary use is as a migraine preventer - mood stabilization is actually a side effect. I've only had two "sick headaches" since I started taking it. And as far as I know, Topomax doesn't have the potential for heart complications that Imitrex does. One of my co-workers had to go to the ER after a dose of Imitrex sent her heart into severe arrhythmia. As a first line of defense, my son's neurologist (he sees him for his ADHD) recommended Excedrin Migraine for his migraines, to be taken at the first indication of an aura. He says it works often enough to be worth trying at school if one comes on for him there. (We haven't had to put it to the test yet, so I can't give you firsthand information on results.) It might be worth keeping a small bottle in your purse, especially over Thanksgiving. Sending you a big bunch of sunflowers, Michelle, in hopes that you don't have to deal with this again very often if ever....See MoreBrain teaser Game...continues here...part THREE

I kind of have a hunch that that is what all of you are doing right now anyway. Right? A lot of work for Lucy!! She has to read all these long lists of words! Comments (3)Hi, Mrs. Jonk. I agree with Desertsteph that it sounds like a pretty decent space. I used to have a pot rack and really liked it. I'd think I'd semi-ignore the appliance colors, though, in making my other choices. Semi meaning that if you decide you need to change anything to make your favorite choices work, let it be the appliances. Draw up your design leaving them blank and see what you think, but do NOT change your expensive, permanent counter choice because of them. Appliances are comparatively temporary even if purchased new, but these days of Craig's List and other similar services, they can also be easily sold and inexpensively replaced as soon as you feel like it. My problem with having a bunch of appliances in strongly contrasting colors, especially the elephant in the kitchen, the fridge, is that they're the shapes they are and in the positions they are strictly because of utility. NEVER what and where an artist would place items in a composition. We're used to visually making excuses for them, so we can exclaim sincerely over "beautiful" kitchens without wincing over THAT thing THERE, but particularly good looking kitchens always manage to maximize their pluses as best possible (such as stove duded up to suggest a hearth or lacquered aubergine to celebrate its culinary importance) and minimize their negatives (hiding fridge bulk in a wall of cabinetry, putting it or perhaps a clutter of small appliances out of line of sight from the doorway, adding a heavy cabinet on another wall to balance visual weight, etc.)....See MoreWhoever stole my brain can I have it back?
Comments (12)Cheri127, That article is eye opening. Everyone should read it! DH and I over think everything. Always looking for more information, a better deal, etc. Kitchen cabinets are an example. We have a store, with a great KD, offering us a good cabinet at a reasonable price. Yet, I found my self constantly looking for a better deal...searching craigslist, other stores. The difference was never more than a few hundred dollars. I was spending huge amounts of time. Finally in talking to DH, I stopped. Could I miss out on a great deal? Yea, maybe, but probably not. If it was not for the internet I would never have gotten in to that state of constantly looking. Clueless... You can't miss if you choose what you love....See More- 3 years ago
