Well, don't be offended but I don't like those cabinet doors at all. They are different, but to me they look very 1970's. Not that I think we have to give in to the whole "dated = must replace" mindset. I'd get new doors, if you like raised panel doors (I do too, although everyone seems to be doing Shaker today, but I think raised panel, like shaker is pretty much timeless) Your backsplash, appliances and counters look good. You could of course go with the dark gel stain, or could paint them, , white or gray would look great with the counters and backsplash (or even white uppers/gray lowers) If you don't like oak, you can get brushing putty to fill in the grain of the cabinet boxes and frames. But that is a lot more work, and if its going to be a rental, I'd just get the oak doors and gel stain or paint it. The visible grain isn't a deal breaker, especially for a rental. Leave the counters and backsplash, it will look fine.

I actually would strip those doors to natural wood if they are actually walnut make sure all your lighting is LEDs in 4000k before doing anything. I can’t see those cabinets painted white I think it will make them look cheap unless done in high gloss white laquer.

I hope you will check out the new paint color. Our kitchen looks brighter. Unfortunately, our house faces north so we don't get a lot of light. So, I persuaded my husband that our house should only be pastels and not jewel tones (as my grandmother would say). So some of the tchotchkes might be a little dark but I happy with them.

The Urban Barn stools look the most comfortable. My normal knee jerk response to a choice of colors is to pick the green, but the creamy one is padded and definitely looks like it works better with the whole room. Everything looks much happier. I know I’m being a pest, but can you scooch the rugs over a bit toward the couch so the feet are on the edge? It feels like the couch “fell off” the rug. The pink chairs (which look great) can be further to the edge of the rug. The whole area looks balanced and calm. I have an open concept house and I know how hard it is to get everything to “play nicely together”.
