Cashed in Son's Change Jar

I cashed in my son's change jar. It was heavy, and I transferred the contents to a sturdy tote to bring to the change counting machine at our grocery store. I could barely carry it. $195 dollars worth that has been sitting in his closet since he moved out on his own 20 years ago. I got a gift certificate with it to Home Depot and sent it off in the mail. If I had converted it to cash, I would have had to pay a hefty fee. He is surprised it amounted to so much. Do you have change jars in your home in this time of coin shortages?
