Private messaging not working--testing

Houzz: Has private messaging been removed as an option? I've read several complaints about not being able to message, and even though my messaging is turned on, another member verified that there is no 'Message Me' button on my member page. Thank you.

Hi Linda, You probably aren't overlooking anything. Each member must choose whether or not to allow private messaging in "Settings". If they do so a link will appear on the right side of the cover photo on their "home page" (and yes, I just figured this one out!) If they choose not to, it seems you, me, and a lot of other folks here spend precious time looking for something that's not there! If memory serves, the old format stated whether or not you could contact someone privately. I don't quite understand the "Follow" feature, which is another choice you have in "Settings". I think if someone allows you to "Follow" them and you do so, you receive an alert whenever that person makes a post or responds to an existing one. I think I chose to "follow" the 3 or so people who first "followed" me; in hindsight I maybe wish I hadn't because I can't follow everyone, and don't want anyone I don't follow to feel slighted. Am I making sense?! Anyway, I hope the info I provided is correct ;-D and helps solve your problem Feel free to share with us any tips you have about this new GardenWeb. It is still a bit confusing & intimidating to navigate. On another note, I hope you are able to attend the Spring '16 swap in Gadsden. If someone allows private messaging, there will be a "message" button on the upper, right hand side of their screen, next to the "follow" button. (Click on their name in a post to get to their screen).

African Togo, dwarf, small, flattened, round fruit, with interesting blossom ends. 4. "Grow it Forward" tomato seed mix, which may include the above 3 tomatoes, or a slim chance of also, a red cherry, AAA Sweet Solano - orange striped, Angora orange, fuzzy plant, med, orange, round fruit, or variious yellow fruit, or a bicolor green on top, red on the bottom, is Ananas Noire AKA Black Pineapple. There's no guarantee that you'll get all those types, but there's a slim chance you might. The mix is probably mostly Rose De Berne, as that was the most prolific plant. 5 Flowering quince bush - requires 2 stamps to send.
