Comments (33)Did you end up doing the magnetized chalkboards in your kitchen? That's how we "chatted" -- you were interested in mine. (I have the all-white kitchen with lots of white marble and the two magnetized chalkboards on either side of our fridge and freezer, if that rings a bell.) Listen, don't sell yourself short! 2,400 square feet is a lot of flooring and (to be redundant) a lot of cleaning. I can see how rugs mightn't be tops on your list .... That being said, last weekend on HGTV's Find Your Style they did a Craftsman living room and used this rug in the Jewel colorway from Room & Board: It's definitely a modern goose on Craftsman style and unfortunately, none of these photos do it justice but in the episode it looked wonderful! from the episode: I don't know how much you want to do True Mission, and (caveat) I really like like a modern twist thrown in to keep it fresh and current, but what about a leather Moroccan rug or a Turkish kilim? Warning: you could be lost for days searching for those! (there are so many and it can become positively addictive -- I started to look for you but snapped to when two year-old Li'l Bit demanded a cuddle) This is the vase I got from etsy, just so you can see what I was thinking: I know you just hung the pictures in your stairwell, but do you think you could hang both of them together? I like them but think, in the photo, they appear kind of lost. In my mind's eye if hung together they wouldn't look so salt & pepper. (Don't change the one by the lamp, however!) Have a wonderful tapas party this Friday!...See Moreopen living room/ dining room decor add on’s
Comments (4)The loveseat and the couch is what we have right now. I am debating if il change it to sectional instead as buyng two couches will be way more expensive than sectional. Or ican add an accent chair maybe?...See MoreLiving Room is missing something
Comments (21)The lighting looks much better. The arc light sounds great though! Think about pulling colors from the large piece of art. a couple of nubby throws in a neutral or accent color would be nice. if you want to be able to change the pillows/throws up places like world market or even home goods, IKEA are inexpensive but you can find great deals. I got clearance outdoor pillows from a big box store that I use for spring and summer In our family room. And then I have others I use for fall, more expensive and some I made for holiday season; an interesting plaid that is interesting with my mid mod/ bohemian feel. And remember it can evolve; you have a great eye....See MoreHelp! How to decorate Farmhouse/French Living Room!
Comments (19)the room is cute but it needs some life and color. Bring in some plants and art. it's hard to photoshop this angle, but I threw in some color, some texture w/the darker woven wood blinds, some greenery, a basket w/some colorful pillows, and please replace those beige sofa pillows for something w/color! down in the corner I have a color group of 4. try velvet, some cotton, whatever. as long as the colors all match, you can do diff patterns even something like these would work instead of the art between the windows, try some soft, light panels. look at the double window. it's kind of like your set up. see how they did the panel on the sides and one in the middle?? I would raise the blind up a little higher than what's shown here w/yours. but this would for sure make your one wall look put together. this is the worst photoshop ever, but see if you can imagine it but I really would look into diff window blinds. something like this offers a contrast. notice the pillows, a throw and the plant behind that sofa you really need some art. or you can do a long wood shelf like this, and stage it w/many prints. but notice that they all resemble each other. size, color, frames, simple subject matter, etc. you can do some white drapes like shown, and the bamboo blinds. love the tree in the basket. I want you do imagine if you removed every single accent item in this room. it would look like yours! you i gave you a diff style side table since everything in this room is bulky, or heavy wood. you need some delicate items to balance it out. style your mantle w/things like this...See Morejewelisfabulous
