We will have a half-bath off the hot-tub deck that will only be accessible from outdoors. It is actually in one corner of the house so I could have made it a pass-thru with secondary access from my great room via a short hallway past a small closet. I decided against doing that for several reasons. First, we have another half-bath downstairs for non-swimming guests to use so accessing this one from indoors wasn't really necessary. Second, not wasting space on the access hallway allowed me to have a much larger closet off my great room. Third, on the wall that would have had the interior pocket door, I was able to have an 8 inch deep built-in bookshelf type arrangement that will hold loads of rolled-up pool towels. Fourth, I am never quite comfortable in bathrooms that have two entryways. I get on the throne and then start wondering if I remembered to lock one of the doors. Most importantly however, because the pool bath is tucked away where it is not easily noticable from indoors and we probably won't use it everyday, I was somewhat concerned that I might forget to lock the exterior bathroom door and thereby accidentally give someone access to my house. Or, someone would lock the interior door and go back out to the pool. Then, when we were all ready for bed and locking up for the night, I would have to go outside and clear around just to check to see if the exterior bathroom door was locked. Just seemed like more trouble that it was worth. This way, with the bath only accessible from the deck, it is likely we will never bother locking it at all. Not much to steal in there except towels and a toilet and sink and leaving it unlocked means I don't have to remember to unlock it before going out for a swim. I'm sure there are lots of good arguments for going the other way as well but that was my thinking.

Also the new GE Reveal LEDs - they have good color rendering (90 CRI) and though the 2850K color temperature doesn't sound all that different than 2700, they definitely throw off a cooler cast than 2700K bulbs. Available in a BR30 flood or standard (A19) 40- or 60-watt replacement. Home Depot stocks them in their stores and I just bought a BR30 to try it out. I can't get your link to work btw

Per the 2008 NEC: Article 404 "Switches", Part 4 "Damp or Wet Locations": Switches shall not be installed within wet locations in tub or shower spaces unless installed as part of a listed tub or shower assembly. Article 406 "Receptacles", Part 8 "Receptacles in Damp Locations": (C) Bathtub and Shower Space. Receptacles shall not be installed within or directly over a bathtub or shower stall. (Note: A "receptacle" is defined as an outlet where a user connects a plug.) Article 410 "Luminaires, Lampholders & Lamps", Part 10 "Luminaires in Specific Locations": (D) Bathtub and Shower Areas. No parts of cord-connected luminaires, chain-, cable-, or cord-suspended luminaires, lighting track, pendants, or ceiling-suspended (paddle) fans shall be located within a zone measured 900 mm (3 ft) horizontally and 2.5 m (8 ft) vertically from the top of the bathtub rim or shower stall threshold. This zone is all encompassing and includes the space directly over the tub or shower stall. Luminaires located within the actual outside dimension of the bathtub or shower to a height of 2.5 m (8 ft) vertically from the top of the bathtub rim or shower threshold shall be marked for damp locations, or marked for wet locations where subject to shower spray. Well...here's a rather different idea. It's based on: --small kids who grow to be adolescents; --empty nesters using the house when the kids have left; --attempting to sell the house when it's time to downsize Build two, separate, hall oriented bathrooms, each with a space with two lavatories, and another space with a WC and tub/shower. Don't forget a linen closet for each.
