Ashrose you are going to love the Nacadoches, mine is going on its 4th year and last spring it started blooming and never stopped, even now it is blooming lol. It also has been super healthy with very little BS if any and when I say very little maybe one or two leaves. You will also love your cl pinkies. I have 3 I planted last spring and they don't know the word sleep lol, mine are growing up the poles of my arbor and grew up to 12 ft already, not much bloom due to all that growing but wow I was impressed by how vigourous they grew, I was constantly tying up canes lol. And I also think you will love SDLM, mine is also new but so far I love it and it has been healthy. All my roses have come from Chamblees too but I have a few I want to try from ARE, like blush noisette and clotilde soupert. thanks for entertaining my question. I assumed if it were a workable idea someone had thought of it before, but couldnt think of why it wouldnt be a good idea. I checked the planting area again and it extends out from under the rain gutter about a foot so it should get both direct rain and the area under the outer half of the gutter you metnioned above. I received my huckle berries with an apricot attached is a picture. There's such a range of sizes the evergreen Hucks can grow to I think I will just plant one in front of house on each side of the porch. And add some more later if they dont grow over 6 feet or so. and not to get off point, I was planning to plant a couple in front of my propane tank to hide it, but again, there's such a range of how big the plants can grow to I'm not exactly how to do it (other than to leave a small area between the bushes for the propane hose when it needs filled.)

Thank you all for your replies, there is truly some love for electric kettles here! I went yesterday to my nearby SLT and W-S to kick some tea kettle tires. While I did look at some electric kettles, I'm truly not a counter top appliance guy, and we really don't drink tea that often anyway, so I guess they are just not my cup of tea! (sorry, couldn't resist;) The Le Creuset, All Clad, and the current Chantal all seemed to pale in quality and substantial feel to my 30+ year old kettle, so I went away a bit discouraged. I then did some research on the Chantal, and it appears that prior to 2008 the "enamel on steel" kettle I have was made in Germany. Since then, they have been made in Taiwan, and are a slightly smaller dimension, and much lighter weight. Finding this out prompted me to take my old kettle and clean it up as much as I could. I was able to remove almost all the surface rust around the lid, and gave the inside a good vinegar cleansing. I noticed at the stores the Chantal had a rubber gasket around the lid that has been missing on mine for how long I can't remember, so I went to Chantal's website, and ordered a replacement gasket for $3! After it was all cleaned up, I fired it up and boiled some water for tea, and that trusty Hohner harmonica seemed to sing extra happy to be given a new life! I figure a little rust is just extra iron :) Who knows, maybe another 30 years? Thanks again for all your input... Chris

Moses, Kordes breeds roses in northern Germany which is probably quite similar to your USDA Zone so if they are choosing varieties I think it likely they are cold hardy for your region. I do not know if ADR gives cold hardiness protection but I think not likely. Earth Angle as mature plants here in Oregon are about 3.5-4 feet tall. It is vigorous and repeats very well. It does not ball in the summer here, but now with night temperatures in the low 40's and rain the blooms are balling. But none of the other blooms in the field look all that great either! I always think these deep cup flower forms have a potential to ball in the right circumstances. People seem to love this flower form in spite of this. For those looking for a red rose with a smaller habit than Leibeszauber should try Grande Amore - an ADR winner and a fabulous red rose. We see the height at 3.5-4 feet. I do not find Wedding Bells low growing but it has a very good habit with a bushy healthy form and good repeat on the flowers. On height I see it at 4-4.5 feet as a mature plant. On fragrance it has good fragrance - not at the level of Savannah but above average fragrance. Flowers are predominantly single and large - 4". Heavy petal ref;ex and a silver reverse on the medium pink bloom make it striking. With Pink Enchantment it is about the same height as Wedding Bells in our trial fields and again these are mature plants- 6 years old. On ultimate plant height there are so many variables. We trial in an area that has a long growing season and a very warm summer. Roses tend to be tall and what we experience here probably is what most gardens in the west should expect. I have also seen in trials in the south similar habit to what I see here. Kordes in Germany generally reports lower average heights with a cooler climate and a shorter growing season. Maybe the height they report is a better indication for the northeastern USA. Other factors are different root stocks on budded plants and own root roses can have a different habit than a budded plant.
