Design Dilemma Bathrooms

I have a 19x10 open space for a master bath and closet. help!.

The short wall will have a window that we will place. What is the best arrangement to maximize closet for two, include a freestanding tub, showed and enclosed toilet. And I need a seated makeup area with storage. Is it possible? If so, how to arrange? Entrance is on the long wall. Thanks!!!

I had a roughly 12x17 space that we worked with. I know those aren’t your exact measurements but this is the layout we landed on (the toilet and shower areas ended up flipped in the final layout) the only area we didn’t have was dedicated vanity, but you could put one in if you only needed one sink.

Are you looking for a bathroom or a closet? I'm really confused. It sounds like you want toilet fixture in the closet...

Can you post a "to scale" floorplan (preferably on grid paper) showing all measurements, door & window openings, what's on the other side of each wall, electrical, plumbing, where you're located (for building code requirements), etc. Lots of great folks here to provide their insights & expertise but will need more info from you.

kirk: The plumbing can go in the ICF wall. The issue is having an access to the shower guts in case there is a leak or need for changing something out in the future. Andi: I notice that your shower is tempered glass between the tub and shower. It looks like your plumbing is also in that same wall. What is your plumbing? Or is that a wall between them? I'd like glass between mine. Will you be able to open your windows?

I like the placement of the walk-in. It's convenient from both the bedroom and the bathroom but it is in neither. That's really great. You can do much better than hanging rods all along the perimeter though. Maybe shelves on the top and bottom walls and hanging rods on left and right walls if you need to hang that much. Or shelves on the top, hanging on the left, a chair in the bottom right corner with a bachelor's chest with a lamp on it and a mirror hanging above it by the door for storage of underwear and socks. I also like the toilet room at the front of the bathroom so you don't have to walk through the whole room every time you need to go. You'll access that about five times as often as the shower so that's a good choice. I would put the door on the short wall across from the toilet though. It makes no sense to have it open right where someone might be standing at the sink. And some of the convenience is lost by having to make a 90 degree turn to access it. Have it open out just in case. If someone falls or is crouched down getting sick, you'll want access. Two vanities is nice. All told this is the nicest ensuite-WIC layout I've seen posted.

I would square off the bathroom, no angles, by extending the right hand wall of the bathroom straight down. In that newly created space you could move the shower, add a linen closet, a bidet, or or something else that suits your needs. The catch is that means the walk in closet would need to be accessed from the bedroom not the bathroom. So that depends on your personal preference Also, *because you have the space* I would increase the toilet room by 6", and run the vanities to the edge of the tub

I still like no. 1 better but before you go ahead with this dimension of shower, for precautions, I would shop for vanities just to make sure you can find one that size. Also, for me, an 18x32 vanity would be too small. It may not for you but I suggest that you compare what you have right now and see if you would be satisfied with a vanity that size. The drawers might be very narrow. All of that may work for you but it does not hurt to check before you commit. If you find the vanity too small or you can't find any of that size, you might have to change the angle of the shower. You can also have a custom made vanity, but also check if you can find a sink the right size for that vanity. Also, if you find you have not enough storage you may want the cabinet I suggested in the bottom left corner. In that case, I would put a sliding door in the middle of the bathroom (not to the left. Your plan as you have it now might well work but there are precautions worth to checking before committing.

There is no way to get help without a to scale floor plan of the space and also how it relates to your bedroom. BTW I hate toilet rooms they make no sense at all inside the main bathroom space . You need to share your wants in a coset do you have a ton of shoes for instance . Closet design is all about what you need .As Andrea mentioned all those things need to be marked clearly with meaurements on your drawing and you will find graph paper makes it easier.

Unlikely you'll be able to fit all of that in that space. A reasonably sized master closet will be 7x10. You can go to 6x10 but it will feel a bit cramped. So look for 12x10 bathroom layouts and you'll see what you can do. I think there will probably not be space for a vanity and a tub and double sinks, so you'll have to choose which one you want. This has an example of a 12x10 bath.

Thank you! We are on a pier and beam so we can move plumbing easily. Okay, so it sounds like I need to focus on 12x10 master bath ideas! Thanks so much. Any other suggestions are appreciated!

Just look at your plans. The position of the door is wasting space in your closet. If you want to message me I can put a spec idea on the CAD.
