Let's see the ones on containers!
Comments (24)inlimbo---yeah---you got it--way too much time on the computer for me, too! Between working hard in the garden and snapping pics. and checking this forum everytime I come or go in the house--there's not much room for anything else! Here's a couple more I have in a 'barrel' that have always performed well in that situation---except Spring '07, when everything was set back! Even this year, most are still struggling to be what they were before--a few have succeeded, others are still playing 'catch up'!! Before Spring '07: This year: And, Captain Kirk, before '07 and after: Actually, I can see with the photos, that Capt. Kirk may not be doing badly at all in 'getting back into the game'!!...See Morelet me see your kitchen table for your remodeled kitchen
Comments (2)Congratulations! We just built and it took me awhile to figure out our table as well. My father in law built a farm house table out of ash...we stained it a darker shade...it's roughed up and aged looking...I think I will forever love it! I paired it with black chairs. I don't have a picture at the moment. Here is a link to a similar design. It's basic but I love it. Here is a link that might be useful: Farm house table...See MoreLet’s see your color riot!
Comments (47)Skibby, know I haven't planted goatsbeard in that garden, but not sure what it (between the two areas of phlox 'Laura') is. Extreme right: is something like a dracaena in one of my customer's planters on a stone column behind. Last visit, cut the Kashmiri tree mallow back (pink flower above the liatris) to expose the phlox behind. Thinking it's too early for that height from other tall perennials planted in that location. You've got me wondering. Going to check on visit tomorrow. Thanks re combination. I plant and tend to it all, but there's always an element of chance that hopefully is corrected (e.g. pulling out wild running goldenrod and asters, inside the beds, before they've really got going). Kali_c, am very fond of that size of dahlia in areas too small for a perennial bed. Your's currently look much better than mine. For the first time in ten or so years of using medium-sized dahlias, I'm trying to deal with mildew on the leaves....See Morelet’s see your landscape!
Comments (4)We are in the PNW and growing hydrangeas is not difficult due to the rain, moderate temps and angle of the sun. Zone 7 - 8 is perfect and fossils of hydrangeas are quite common - so they have been growing here for millions of years. Most of the following photos were taken the last few days - so they are going dormant. You will also see many small pots and plants that will be sold at our garden club plant sale in May. My style of landscape is 'the one with the least amount of soil....wins' lol It is also called layering, and possible because we don't have to protect in winter, or worry about mildew - so we can grow them very close together. Anyway - that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Back garden, Asperas, Lady in Red, Pia, and Nikko Blue in back - planted to hide fence. Aspera, Serrata - Beni Gaku, Oakleaf, new serratas still in pots. Other side of garden, Aspera, Mac. Kluis Superba, New Serratas Miss Saori and two Kiyosumi Along the driveway, raised and shaded under vine maples Hydrangeas and hardy fuchsias are great companions....See MoreDeZi Lo
