We Want to See Your Creative Fall Container Gardens!
Share pictures of your autumn flowers, grasses and interesting branches. You may see your photo in a Houzz story
By now, parts of the garden have started to go to sleep for the season. Front doors, patios, paths and decks are still on display, maybe even more so with holidays on the way. Container gardens, whether evergreen or designed for fall, dress up these outdoor spaces.
We’d love to see photos of your container gardens. Upload your best shot in the Comments below, and tell us about what’s going on in your garden now. Unexpected ideas are especially welcome! Your photo could be featured in an upcoming story on Houzz.

Succulents. Succulents make for attractive container plants year-round, although only people in very mild climates will be able to keep them outside over fall and winter. Growers in other regions can bring them inside once temperatures dip.
These nearly black aeoniums (Aeonium arboreum ‘Zwartkop’) create a dramatic statement and feel especially seasonal, with other succulents filling out the container’s base and string-of-pearls succulents (Senecio rowleyanus) cascading over the edge.

Grasses. Fall is a great time for grasses, with ornamental seed heads bringing their heights and colors up an extra notch. Pink muhly grass (Muhlenbergia capillaris) is especially known for its seasonal display, as its blades take on a rosy hue from the end of summer into fall, the result of pink flowers clustering at the blades’ tips.
Here we see how well these grasses work in containers, which means you can create a meadow on a mini scale.

Flowers. What would fall containers be without mums? But they don’t have to feel like a filler flower straight from the grocery store. This New England entry features white mums in a decorative urn, and adds a personalized rustic touch with knobby pumpkins and foraged branches.
