I my own self would add some "stuff" or "fluff"- pictures on the walls, a basket of silk flowers, maybe a tasselled throw over the small table, etc. Then kind of back up and squint your eyes see if the color really needs to be changed. Have fun!

is it double duty room? need for it to function as an office too? or do you want to convert it to guest room only? what has to stay in a room? what has to go? something you're especially attached to? remodel and decorating are two different things..I take it you want to restyle it rather than remodel? am I correct? the room has a good potential...love the floors determine the function you need to get out of it, and tell us a bit more about your preferences (style? color? anything we can know in order to be more helpful?) I imagine you'd need more lights..window treatments(even though I don't know whether you need them for privacy etc. But they'd make the space softer). Is the rug staying? if yes should go where serves a function, say next to a bed. But first tell us what do you expect out of this room in general

nice floors. Is that the quilt you're using? do you want to match it or something else? I'd prob suggest a crisp white on the walls, bring in some coordinating drapes in blue and another accent color, maybe a rug for under the bed. Some artwork, new lighting. your lamp is too large for that nightstand. get something less yellow. Ditto for the floor lamp. the picture you currently have is hung too high. lower it about 10 inches. Or, move it over the desk if it will fit in that spot. some ideas. all of these decor ideas would work w/your space. choose your bed linen first, and work from that. Do you know how to properly do the bed and pillows so it looks good? you may need a few more stiffer pillows to stand up against the headboard. this is the look you want for the pillows If you could swing the white wainscot, the upper wall in medium blue would look great. It's all about the details. look carefully at the pics and what they use. take notice of all of the bedside lamps used in these pictures. that is the size you want.
