Guest Room - Looking for Ideas ?
Comments (7)Ok, I have a different chair and a bookcase for my guest room. I will change the curtains (they'll go in master bedroom now). Below are the curtains in the master bedroom which I can move into the guest room - they have green, beige and gold in them and I think they could go with the bookcase. I can change the accent pillow to maybe a green and beige print? Or perhaps a throw? I haven't dressed up the bookcase yet - just hauled it in from my car this morning. What do you think of the color of the bookcase - as found at the consignment shop? Should I change it? Don't say anything about my little rabbit, he is looking for a home but hasn't found it yet. Ha! I already had the lamp and the framed mushroom photo. The tan lampshade picks up the color of the mushrooms....See MoreIdeas needed on how to paint attic guest room?
Comments (32)Kippy - thanks for the suggestion but the really pales and anything greenish just does not work in this house as much as I like them. I had a story board with 12-15 colors painted on it; a 3 X 5 foot piece of drywall, I carted that thing all over the house and NOTHING looked good. especially in the natural light. Everything just ended up looking gray anyway or washed out. I was so disappointed but did find that Simply White worked and a medium gray, the Sparrow, and a light silver. Annie I love all those rooms and my first choice would be like the first room you posted. The Weathered White looks similar in my house. I was going to paint my walls in the bath, the gray for my SIL, but have now decided to tile everything. Maybe just do the one sloped ceiling in the bath the darker gray? Everything else white tile? Rory- WOW hold everything!!! I used to wallpaper everything...;) Linelle you are so right about how light changes colors. I can't really do greens so much and since we are on a bare naked hill it is all sky. I think that's why the silvery grays work for this house. I think I will just wait til I prime everything and then paint the room in weathered white. I have lots of that paint left over. I will take pictures and post here. Once we get the tile finished in the bath and maybe do the one sloped ceiling in there in Sparrow and see what you think....See MoreSage office/guest room ideas
Comments (17)I do like it, and if you and mil like it that's the most important thing. I found this photo that really shows how good this colour green looks with natural, mid-tone wood. I don't love everything about it but see how the wood and green just compliment each other so nicely? The silver is definitely nice too, and if you go with it I would do black or blonde wood floors with black and white rugs. The rugs could be geometric design, stripes, zebra, whatever. Then use black for the bookshelves, silvery grey for upholstery. It would be a very glamourous room so I'm not sure it would be conducive to your mil's intended purpose (devotion, prayer, and entertaining guests)....See MoreOffice/guest room ideas
Comments (8)I was thinking of an aqua blue with the lime-ish green and silver you have already determined you will use. Would be a little calming with the brighter elements. You can sometimes find smaller, inexpensive upholstered chairs all over the place....overstock, Pier 1, Wayfair, etc. I would also make sure you used those colors in the rug and maybe a pillow or other decorative pieces....See More- 5 years ago
