Comments (4)I will look to see if I have a floor plan, but if not, how would i go about creating one for you. I know I sound like an idiot but obviously I am clueless as to this kind of stuff and wish my husband would just let me hire a decorator lol! However, he just now gave me another big fat NO to hiring one lol! So needless to say, I am going to have to learn how to do this on my own and asking for help, however annoying I may be, is the only thing I know to do! So I apologize in advance for my ignorance! I will look for the floor plan! Thanks for responding!...See MoreHow should i arrange my living room (weird layout)?
Comments (5)Let go of the idea that you have to have the sofa or any furniture at all against a wall. The best solution is to "float" the sofa, in your case, to face the fireplace. Get a really nice very large rug, put it in the middle of the room to anchor the space, and place the sofa and coffee table on it. Some shelving to the sides of the fireplace would be an ideal place to place a TV--on the right unless you have a huge TV. A nice easy chair on the left of the fireplace under the window with a floor lamp or shelf lamp behind it would make a cozy reading corner yet would add to your conversational grouping. Do a Google search on "floating a sofa"...See MoreHow should I decorate this exposed brick wall in my living room?
Comments (6)ugh, Houzz failed to post my comment from before. I recommend large, tall open shelving, but sparsely decorated so it doesn't seem too cluttered. you can DIY this by buying 3-4 ladder shelves. they could be pushed together or spaced a few inches apart. there are kinds that lean, and kinds that are straight. get really tall ones for your space-- which you'll need to bolt at the top so they don't tip over. if you didn't want to bolt into brick, there are kinds that anchor to the ceiling and floor. I believe some types don't bolt to the floor, but grip it instead. these kinds of bookcases can get pretty expensive -- you have to contact special places that will supply you with tall enough poles. not usually something you can just get off of wayfair. but they are really stunning! https://www.archiproducts.com/en/products/bookcases/floor-ceiling-mounted...See MoreHow to I plan my long awkward living room?
Comments (5)Unless you have a linear fireplace the TV, if mounted over it, will be too high. The bottom of the TV shouldn't be more than 36" high. Putting it over a fireplace usually places it over 50". It's not comfortable for viewing at that height, especially since you will be less than 12' away from it. Which rooms do those two doors lead to? Where is most of the traffic going to be?...See MoreJudyG Designs
