I'm not personally a fan of creamy whites -- too many of them look dingy to me.

Rather than two different colors, have you consider two shades of the same color: Have you considered a truly pale blue downstairs and a less pale blue upstairs. Otherwise consider a "sand" color that is a very pale brown without any pink or yellow hue.

Would seriously want that stumble hazard hearth replaced with one with its top at floor level.

The currently popular neutral paint colors aren’t in my wheelhouse, but let me ask you for more info that will help other posters help you.

Is the furniture in the pics yours or the previous owner’s? Do you know what the neutral wall color in the pic is? Do you like it, and if not, what do you not like about it? Are you wanting one blue for all the bedrooms and baths, or do you need several different shades that coordinate? Do you have pictures of bedding or curtains for the bedrooms? Is the same wood floor throughout the entire house including baths?

From the pics you’ve shown it looks like a pretty house! I’m sure our paint color mavens will have lots of ideas if you can give them more to work with.

Coastal ain’t happening without big $$$$ IMO this is a mcmansion as far from coastal as you will get

You can use Chantilly Lace, a popular white.

Are you going for coastal or just the blues you show? Because coastal style is light and airy. Look at Sandandsisal.com and see her recent blue living room. Her paint choices are given and they're all SW.

Do you get a lot of natural light? Do you live by the coast?

For the bedrooms, again, the way your room faces will make a big difference in paint choices. We really like SW Rarified Air which is very soft and pale blue. Lullaby is also nice for bedrooms

For the main rooms of house how neutral do you want the walls? SW Fleur de sol is an off white with a very light blue hint to it. It’s very subtle and makes a nice neutral

Just painted a lot of my main floor BM Ballet White. Lovely colour and goes with blues very nicely.
