that show two kids rolling and jumping around in a huge mud puddle and

assuring us that the Pods will wash their clothes clean. Get the kids out of

the mud and you wouldn't be worrying about that. :)

Not part of the question, but right now my very favorite is the Doo-Wop Boys

advertising getting Lottery tickets. I just have to sing along every time I hear it.

I don't like ANY of the emu commercials. AND the new Sonic ones. The three redheads voices are grating, the older man slurping on his shake and making ummmm yummmm ummmm noises, and especially that annoying little boy so loud. Ugh! for me! Around here, we have a personal injury lawyer who is a licensed physician, surgeon, and lawyer. He's so full of himself, and his voice is very whiny.

The latest female hygiene pad commercial about keeping "THAT skin" healthy! I haven't seen it half dozen times but it is ENOUGH.

The best thing about COVID-19 was the LACK of the IDIOTIC toilet paper commercials!!!

I note that there are a lot of what I call post- COVID ads, which are the overly long place fillers that you normally see only on late night, but now with a lot of advertisers pulling their ads (cruise ads, anyone?), these are more prominent. The ones that are overly schmaltzy asking for money for mistreated animals or sick children, or facial wrinkle treatments.

And yes, anything to do with the stinkin' emu or lawyers. Yuck.

Yes! Mute button is my friend....especially for the Tom Selleck reverse mortgage commercial. Another one I can't take is the one advertising medical insurance plans..."helps me with my vision cost, my dental cost, my prescription cost"....can't even remember what the insurance plan is because I mute it so quickly. There are some recently that I actually change the channel, but I won't mention which one as it's political.

The other thing I find funny is I so often am doing something else, esp when the tv ads are on that I'm familiar with the sounds and have no idea what the ad is for. Once in awhile I'll actually watch the ad and it's, "Oh. Now I see!"

Totally agree with the emu commercials. And I don’t like Flo’s new Progressive insurance commercials either. The whiny voiced person, the one where she chases off the paper boy and the birds, all of them, just grate on my last nerve.

I think the emu one is trying to mimic the Geiko ads, which I tend to think are pretty good. The emu ads are not funny or cute, in my opinion. Hate them.

Unfortunately, the "overly schmaltzy asking for money for mistreated animals or sick children" are real - not made up. I can't watch them. I donate generously (of money and time) to those causes and have seen a fair amount of both situations in real life. But I can't watch the ads. I do change the channel, and I guess I feel Ok about doing so because I'm not putting them out of my head or denying that they exist - I just can't watch more.

Because of my poor hearing I use captioning and seldom sound. I HATE all of the commercials for prescriptions with names and diseases I can't even pronounce. And "ask your doctor." Poor doctor!

The other one I think is so funny is the one for Peyronie's disease where men are standing there holding up a bent cucumber or carrot...

We have a negative political ad that I absolutely hate. Very dramatic to the point of appearing fake. The candidate talks in a baby voice.

We enjoy Terry O'Reilly's show "Under The Influence" on Saturday mornings on PBS radio. We've learned a lot about how the 'Mad Men' have shaped our lives. The creators of those annoying commercials are surely thrilled that we talk about their ads -- especially if you remember the sponsor's name.

I dislike the sob story commercials -- especially for the pet industry, given the number of human beings who lack basic needs for food, shelter and opportunity. Are they selling self-worth with those manipulative/accusatory tag lines, "$19 A Month Shows You Care"?

I'm clearly missing out on some stunners (meaning stunner in a bad way). I don't watch any commercial television so I never see the adverts you are discussing. I guess my cultural literacy is declining, too. ;-)

Commercials are the reason that I watch very little TV. Sometimes I tape a program and ff through the commercials and I read or do other things while TV is on mute.

I really tune out most commercials, but regrettably, some are just as you all have described, like nails on a chalkboard and hard to ignore. I could live the rest of my life without another drug or neglected animal ad. We have some really annoying political ones now too, one in particular that seems to be on every 15 minutes.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the My Pillow commercials. I love the pillows but can't stand him or his commercials.

And of course I love any commercial with Patrick Mahomes. Not that he needs any more money. I doubt many of you have seen the series of Mahomes' Hy-Vee grocery store commercials but they are all great.

I do like the ads done with the paint chips samples that are so creative. Usually they have some kind of animals. Beautiful colors and creative.

We love the Subaru Barkley dog family commercials.

I saw a new one today (well, new to me) with animals that look like something else. For example, three stacks of folded cocoa-colored towels? The middle stack is a sharpei puppy. That string mop on the floor? Gets up, and a puli walks away. So cute! Can’t remember what it’s selling, though.

And the Little Caesar commercial, with the high-rise building security guard and his little Caesar dog, so sweet.

Just saw the credit check ad where the man appears to have a romantic interest in a purple cow. I just do not comprehend who thinks of these things!!

I'm not a fan of the mayhem commercials, especially the one where he licks the side of her face, YUCK! But one I really REALLY hate is one for some laundry product, features a quite masculine looking middle aged woman sniffing some laundry, then 'dancing' (??) around with what I think are supposed to be sexy moves. There is absolutely nothing appealing about that woman (or anyone else, for that matter!) twerking!

There are a couple local ads that I mute, too. One is a local car dealer that always ends with him holding up 2 fingers and hollering "peace and love my friends". And the personal injury lawyer that has this fierce scowl and his fat jowls shaking while shouting "there's only one number to remember and that's _!"

We watch mostly the oldies channel, which is obviously geared to the older demographic. Endless, droning ads for the Medicare benefits you "deserve." The Tom Selleck reverse mortgage (oh how far you've fallen, Tom.) Joe Namath selling ... something? And the couple selling Lipozene. And all of these seem to be 5 minutes each. I mute them, but occasionally catch part.

At least they don't show the My Pillow guy. Shhhhhhhh!

Any commercial that starts with “ During these troubled times” and then they try to sell you something totally unrelated. Hate the My Pillow guy too. I don’t know anyone who recommends his pillows.

Outside of a very few, I hate them all...the ones that make my skin crawl are mostly the medication ones. I can’t grab the remote fast enough to either pause or move through them.

There is one ad that I believe is selling insurance ( I never seem to be watching it when it comes on) and near the end, there is a horn tooting. It sounds so real I look out in the driveway every...single....time!!

I hate car commercials that have "professional driver on closed course" and trucks that drive over Mt. Terrain (boulders, thru rivers). Who drives like that?

I dislike commercials in general as a nuisance. But a few stand out.

Recently, the ones from big companies such as Amazon and Frito Lay who buy ad space just to tell everyone about the great things they are doing and how much money they have invested in feel good projects annoy me the most.

The insurance one with the homeowners association busybody grated my nerves, only because i know people like that, and dislike them intensely. I hate the very idea of homeowners associations. I know its meant to be funny, but its not to me.

The abused animal ones make me want to physically hurt people, so i don't like those either. Not good for my overall well being to want to hurt people.

Any ad for things like the Mirror or the other one, i cant remember the name. Oh, Tonal. Only because i feel like the products themselves are so dumb. Just stream a workout to your TV! And why is it after every workout some kid comes running up and jumping into their arms?

Just saw one for the first time for a bra...soft porn for sure...what is wrong with us!!!

Oh, and I do not know who comes up with the Skittles commercials but i worry about them.......
