Tried New Coreopsis Cultivars?
Comments (72)Star Cluster, planted in my cottage garden, came back better than any other coreopsis. That said, voles tunneled under other varieties out in the deer resistant meadow garden! So, it's not really a coreopsis issue. Redshift was reduced in width by the tunneling, but the remainder of the clumps look good. I planted seeds (in the fall) of native prairie coreopsis palmata and those seedlings look fantastic. Cameron...See Morenow that kitchen is painted... onto valance fabric!
Comments (57)I don't know if this will help. I finally picked a blue fabric that I love. I was afraid to do totally blue as I need to tie in some chestnut linen drapes, gray walls, and mossy gray green couches in the family room attached on. I wanted to find a fabric that would work in all areas since it's all open. I'm going to do a pillow and trim out a pillow in the fabric besides the window. Find a color that you'd like throughout your home for flow. Then, the blue (if that is where you are going) won't be so jarring to you. Especially if you're afraid of bold and blue. Schumacher fabric is pretty expensive, but the quality and the colors are so, so lovely. It's really more beautiful in person. Since you're only making valances (I'm making a cafe curtain), the cost isn't as much for a wow statement. But, it's still kind of pricy. You can find tons of schumacher fabric on ebay. Maybe in a colorway you'd like. I ended up buying this beauty for a song. Seriously. Three yards for eight dollars. Enough for some pillows and a cafe curtain. It's normally 100+ per yard! For the price, I thought I'd try it. And, it worked out more than perfect. You'd be surprised what you'll find given time. Don't jump into anything you aren't sure about or love. I've attached a link the fabric. I think it would also work in your home. The darker blue and medium blue aren't scary. They are really rich. Also, make sure to take into consideration the actual fabric if you're making them yourself. This is 100% linen. Linen will droop eventually. I will end up shortening my cafe curtain 1/4 of an inch at least to allow for it. Obviously cotton will shrink when you wash it. Things like that. Good luck! Comments (21)Here's an intriguing option: use the existing 240V wiring for one of the new over-the-range GE Advantium 240 microwave/speedcookers/convection ovens. Reuse the 120V/15A wiring for the gas stove ignition. The Advantium 240 line was just revamped. The new ones look and function as regular microwave ovens, but with 5500w available, can also double as a regular 2nd oven, or triple as a high-speed oven that combines microwave and halogen cooking to create quickly-cooked dishes that are crispy and don't have the usual soggy microwave taste and texture. You would need to downrate the breaker from 40A to 30A, but otherwise it should work easily....See MoreDo you know you are social influencers? lol
Comments (9)We had been getting Papa Murphy's take and bake Cowboy pizza almost every Tuesday for several years when they had the '$10 Tuesday' special for any large pizza. Then they raised the price to $12 a couple months ago and i am boycotting them now. We started getting Digiorno and it was pretty good but still lacking something. I saw Screaming Sicilian on sale for $5,49 a couple weeks ago and bought 4 after remembering the good reviews here. We tried the Supremus Maximus last week and it was really good. I think we'll try the Mambo Italiano tonight. I also bought a Mother of Meat and Three lil' Piggies. Has anyone tried their Stromboli? It would be handy to nuke it up for lunch at work....See MoreMaryl (Okla. Zone 7a)
