Can we replace windows without having to replace shutters?
Comments (17)I have expensive inside mount shutters over kitchen sink area....3 panes across. The window installer said I had to hire a company to take out and replace the shutters before installing new windows. The windows will be removed from the outside of the house, not inside. I just don't trust the shutters being removed and replaced correctly after all this moving around. I live in Maryland and the existing windows I want replaced are 27 years old. Is anyone using a national window company to deal with this problem successfully WITHOUT removing shutters?...See MoreReplacing shutters/painting tin roofing. Need color recommendations.
Comments (5)I would then have the shutters on the rock as un-noticeable as possible by keeping them a color that blends with the rock. Here is a brief article on shutters for you to read Shutters vs Shudders As you can see from the above, your shutters are too skinny to fit your double windows properly. BTW, builders have been providing ill-fitting plastic shutters screwed to the siding for more than 50 years rather than spending the money on properly sized shutters in the right locations. It is just one of their cost cutting measures ...many people don't know the difference until they research shutter sizes, types, etc....See MoreShutters stained the house body

Comments (9)Agree with houssaon about removing the shutters. Keep the white fascia and trim and porch posts. Do you have a favorite bold color that you might want for your front entry door color rather than white? If so, you might also consider painting your white porch chair(s) that same color. You could add a post with a solar light and brackets for a pair of hanging baskets centered in front of the windows to the right beside your porch. You could add some plants around the post that will climb the post and provide colorful blooms. You might add a plain concrete bird bath to your yard. You could create a walkway to the bird bath with pavers with grass in between the pavers....See Morehoussaon
