Comments (2)I feel totally stupid as I now see that my original post did finally make it online. I thought that it was my fault since the computer froze up on me after posting the last one. I'm feeling very sheepish. So sorry for taking up the unnecessary space and time!...See MoreHelp picking bar stools to complete kitchen! (pic included)
Comments (30)Missy- have you thought about having him stain the wood to get the exact color you want. I stained our walnut darker before putting on the waterlox. Can't wait to see it! Lakegirl- our island is 84"x36"... I just went down and looked at them and it's hard to say if they would be too big for a 66" length...they could definitely be moved closer together... I'm just not sure if they would have to be too close together for the size. Could you order them and hold them up to see and then return them if they turn out to be too big. I did that with the hundi lanterns from Pottery Barn. After seeing them in person I realized they were too big. I have another idea. Ballard design has the carriage house lantern that is the same style, but a little smaller. The capital pendants are 10" square and the Ballard Design ones are 8" square. I have the larger (12") Carriage House lantern in my foyer. Here's a pic I just looked at BD website and they have a new pendant I think would look great over an island. Check out the Calisse Pendants. I might have done two of those of the island. They are a little bigger (11"). I don't know why my pictures are so big. I resized it but it still huge!...See Moreplease help with bar stools - kitchen island
Comments (34)i have the same configuration as you with my double ovens and fridge behind the island seating. One of the best decisions I made for my remodel was getting a counter depth fridge AND getting rid of my stools that had backs and swiveled. What a difference it made not only in when someone is getting something out of the fridge or oven (now they can pivot to the island to set something down) but also for parties where you use the island as a buffet (the stools don't get in the way and guests can reach over them to get food). Plus they don't take any coveted aisle space when walking through. Here is my set up: I'm wondering if my stools would work in your kitchen? They are super comfy because of the cushion and I don't miss the backs or the swivels of my old ones like I thought I would.
