You know, of course, that they don't make the heads/hands for these dolls anymore. I finished mine about three years ago (I made them all, plus vintage Strawberry Shortcake series and the modern Strawberry Shortcake series) I spent almost 2 weeks on line looking for these heads/hands. I bought some from e-bay and did find some on a few private sites. Check to make sure you can get the heads/hands before you think about starting this project.

Thanks to all of you for your nice comments and compliments. Renee is my DS's daughter. When she was growing up she and her cousin, my DD's son were great buddies, even though he is 4 years older. They each liked to cook, and any time they were at our house, they wanted to cook. I gave them free range in the kitchen, with one rule: they had to clean up when they were through. Now grown up they each are good cooks, she specializing with cakes and cupcakes, and he is the grill master. I was never a gourmet cook, but I was great with pies, cakes and cookies, so I guess that might be genetic! So yes, I am the grandma she is referring to, and it is a good thing I am about 35 minutes away from the shop or I would be eating up her profits! Sue

If you like it, Raspberry Cupcake (KORcarmsis), it has a probable sister, Carmen Wurth (KORjupvio) and its sport, Königin Marie (KORcarmut). The pattern in codenames is actually humorous and well done by Kordes this time. Violette Parfumee, New Zealand and Caramel Fairy Tale seem to be the likely parents. So, two HT sniffers and a "flori-gusa". I declined on these guys because it was never obvious what size they would be here. Every reference was different. Can't plan out the garden with random dimensions. But I was interested.

It is definitely very interesting and somewhat frustrating to me how different roses act. Even in my own garden I have had the same variety in different locations both in full sun acting different. All we can do is try them and if we don’t love them try something else. I am not going to lie Austin’s are my absolute favorite, but I don’t want to commit to spraying so I am trying lots of Kordes as they tend to be healthier. If I could have a garden full of Austins without constant spraying I would not miss many of my Kordes except for Earth Angel. RC does have an amazing strong fragrance which is the top reason she is in my garden. Kitty I use straw all year instead of wood mulch. I think if you have trouble with the soil staying too went just skip the mulch altogether. The straw is a very good insulator and it helps keep the soil moist because it becomes a very tight carpet. It also works very well for anything with a slope because it stays together better than wood mulch.
