It's a traditional kitchen of no particular distinction. Did the cabinets come that color, or did somebody paint what were probably oak cabinets?

Galley style kitchen with cathedral arch traditional cabinets that were originally oak and have been painted blue. Looks like you might have LVt on the floor.

That's weird with the countertop jut-out and the extended depth upper. Not a fan of the robin egg blue cabs either. Good luck.

It's an old kitchen that someone tried to modernize. Older style arch doors (probably oak with old outer hinges that they painted. Looks like LVT floors (vinyl) and looks like they put in a new albeit weird countertop. It wasn't a particularly successful job.

For additional cabinets / counters on the other side of the door, what would be good contrast colors? Or do you think I should go for the same color palette?

I would live there for a few months and try different color sample for the new cabinets. If you would like to paint the new cabinets the same pretty blue, take one door off your current cabinets and take it to BM or SW store. Talk to the manager there to get an exact color match. They use a computer to read the color and will work to adjust it until it is perfect.

In the old days, BC, before Corona, I would have told you to go to a fabric store and find some patterns that have your pretty blue in them. Find two other colors in that piece of fabric and use them as your two other colors in the space. You can buy a 1/4 or 1/2 yard of the fabric and visit your paint store to get a match on the color you like best. Fabrics have been designed by artists whose eye for color is more practiced than yours or mine.

@remodeling1840 - That's a great idea. I'll wait for Corona to subside and head out to the fabric store. Btw, I do some paint that was used on the cabinets, so I should be Abel to get more of the exact one if needed.

In general, what would go well with a blue / white color scheme? I can then prune down to the exact shade..

Go with complementary colors like soft greens or yellows for your fabric. Or you can opt for adding deeper blues like indigo or navy. Here are a couple of inspiration photos:

I would agree with many of the above posters - traditional kitchen that has been painted to appear updated. I would probably try a white or espresso cabinet in the corner - it really depends on your other furnishings rather than the color of the cabinets.

I think you need to slow down and live with this for a bit bfore doing anything. There are some odd things going on in the space that IMO you will find bad as you live there.IMO something under the window for a juicer is going to look odd and please no espresso baninets ever they scream cheap chinese junk.That far end is I think meant to be a breakfast space . Wait is all I can say. Put the juicer on that weird jut out for now.

I think a deep navy blue would coordinate nicely with the light blue and light countertops.
