Jinx of course I like the middle Horchow lamp the best. It’s the most expensive! 😳 I do like the others too. Beverly where is the first lamp from? Yes I’ll make sure the shade is white when lit and I do want find lamps that are relatively simple.

I quite like Jinx" third option for this room; the Horchow Kava lamp. Simple but interesting.

IMO the mirror should not be there it is reflecting nothing worth seeing twice. Show the art you are planning and mayb just one lamp and I would like to see the rest of the space . I do like the wall color BTW. Husbands are rarely helpful in these decisions. I like fresh flowers on buffets so I would do one lamp and a fab vase with your art work where the morror is but i need to see the art and the rest of the space.

That mirror reflects the beautiful glow of your chandelier and the faces of those you hold dear gathered round the table. Nothing worth seeing? I beg to differ. It's perfect ... please don't second-guess your decision to hang it in your dining space.

Hi Flo. Yes I keep admiring the paint color. Lol. Oh my sofa is finished. (Only took four weeks!) I’m waiting to be contacted by the freight company about delivery. Looking forward to your ideas. IdaClaire thank you, that’s rather how I’ve always felt. I alway have candles on the table lit which reflect in the mirror and yes my family and friends! :) I like lamps 2 and 3 too. I think maybe the first Horchow lamp may be too short.

I found lamps I think you will like. They have traditional notes but updated a bit. They are simple but elegant. I see some blue and white porcelain pieces with big white flower arrangement in center that reflects in your pretty mirror.

Then I would love a gold piece for your table that would reflect beautifully in your mirror. You are going to be ready for holiday decorating!! I am hunting for table piece. 🙂

Really like those lamps Flo! Am I missing something as far as being able to tell where things people post are from? Like the lamps you found. How many and which porcelain pieces should I buy? I do have some beautiful Christmas decorations I put on the sideboard but the rest of the year I have nothing so the porcelain pieces would look really nice.

Still haven’t rehung drapes or even put the muntins? mullions? whatever those things are called back. Still have a little cleanup to do.

Thank you Gcubed. Here’s a before. The pic was taken as I was starting to rip the wallpaper off. You can see part of the border was ripped off top right. Candlesticks normally on the dining room table not sideboard.

Consider painting those lamps that you already have white (RustO'leum 2x spray paint) -- (multiple thin coats letting them dry in between coats) -- and replacing the shades with white ones.

Flo had my oldest daughter over for a late birthday thing - dinner, presents etc. Haven’t even had a chance to measure but I’m pretty sure the lamps will work. Are all the porcelain pieces all from Monticello?

Yes the porcelains are from Monticello. They are such a good value. Of course, you could hunt antique shops for a more collected pieces but you will probably spend a lot more money.

Flo went to order the lamps a couple days ago and they’re out of stock. Argh. Their shades were 9.5 inches wide which was perfect there. Darn. Now I don’t know what to do. The $455 for two was a good price too.

Nuts. I am telling everyone in this market period, buy when you see it because inventories are so low you will be disappointed. So sorry, but I would call them and see if they expect a new shipment any time soon. Get on “alert” list if they do that. That was so perfect and such a great price for good quality lamps. Well, everything happens for a reason. Did your sofa get delivered?

Ok I’ll call them tomorrow. Sofa will be delivered tomorrow. They are allowed now to bring it in the house but not move anything else. Old sofa is sitting in our kitchen because hubby and I were able to very carefully get it in there. I’ll post a photo in original thread. He now wants to put the green leather recliner down the basement so I could get a lighter (in color) recliner to take its place. But back to the quandary of the color.

Oh great!! Get the sofa in place and we can go from there!

Flo I did find the lamps on Lamps Plus for $539 so less than Mad Cap Cottage (Thanks for finding that though) but it’s killing me that I could have gotten them for $400 and whatever on Horchow. I need to work up to this. Lol. Theresa I really like the wall color very much. It’s so striking. I fully realize I have too much art in this room but art is my husband’s and my thing we do together. We don’t have room to put any of the art anywhere else. :)

I love the room, it does make me happy. Monticello also seems to not have some of those pieces. The wallpaper was 25 years old, only room we haven’t done anything to the walls.

Monticello will alert you to any pieces you like if they have them on order and coming in. Inventories and shipments have been so challenging for everyone, so some patience is needed for sure. So happy the room gives you JOY!! That is the goal. Now we have to finish the ever evolving living room!

Ah ok. My ever evolving living room is beginning to stress me out a bit.

@flo mangan Look how perfect the lamps are, haven’t even removed plastic from shades but had to snap a pic. I love them! Haven’t bought anything from Monticello (apparently I have a short attention span and like to jump around to different rooms) but I found this blue and white vase I have and stuck some hydrangea blooms in it. Thanks so much for finding the lamps!! I need pillow help for my sofa. I don’t know what direction to go.

I used the chat feature and told Horchow I was appalled at the $50 shipping fee. She said it was because they had to be packaged in a “special way”. But she gave me a $50 credit. They weren’t packaged any differently than any other lamps I’ve ordered. $650 would kill my Scottish soul as my mom used to say! 😂 @flo mangan
