Looking for dining room chair ideas!

I'm looking for ideas to modernize this table set a bit. We had it custom built by some amish by us so we are definitely keeping the tables and some of the chairs, but I was wondering if I should ditch all the cushions (or get new ones), and replace two of the chairs to add a little interest to the space? These chairs and table are pretty bulky, so I can't have anything too small. A few ideas I had are attached. Any ideas appreciated!!

We'll be moving to a new house soon but it will have a similar dining room. Chelsea Gray on the top, white board and batten, and a similar rug.

Try adding a table cloth as it will be a nice change.For chairs,assuming there is a bench on side I suggest only add some new cushions to your chairs. Adding different style chairs will add too much character to the look .Usually the the best way of adding different chairs is to add two wing chairs on each side but since you also have a bench on one side I suggest to keep the chairs same and only add some new cushions.

I see no relationship between the blue walls and anything else in the room and if the drapes had blue and cream or beige stripes that might solve the problem. The room is very linear and a large green plant and a round or oval centerpiece would help to correct that.

The wood trim is beautiful and gives character and texture to your house. I'm with everyone else suggesting that you use paint and tweaks on your lighting, art work, and furnishings to lighten the spaces. I would have her store them in her room, sorted in bins for each craft. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/trofast-storage-combination-with-boxes-white-turquoise-s49329468/ I use these. Originally I had the rack, now use them on shelves in the closet. They come in different sizes. I have about a dozen of them, each for a different supply: edging lace, insertion lace, embroidery floss, Swiss embroidery, UFOs, etc. The lids keep the dust out. That way, she can pull the bin she needs for a project. The rest stay neatly stored away, so the dining table can be ready in minutes.
