Would love help picking a kitchen pendant to coordinate....
Comments (1)Would you consider moving the Capiz fixture over your table? I think your island needs a larger fixture - sometimes it's hard to tell by looking at a photo - but this seems small for the scale of the space here are a few: http://www.lampsplus.com/products/Deluxe-Polished-Chrome-Island-Chandelier__59899.html This one is really neat - but you would need to find it in a neutral: http://www.bluemarblelighting.com/servlet/the-3713/Kitchen-Island- Pendant-Lighting/Detail?gdftrk=gdfV21039_a_7c247_a_7c994_a_7cB3303 here is another: http://www.lightingdirect.com/murray-feiss-f2402-3-3-light-contemporary-modern-down-lighting-island-billiard-fixture-from-the-sunset-drive- collection/p1229650...See MoreHelp - suddenly need to pick out pendant for sink!
Comments (3)I think it'll be fine to use the same fixture if the size is right, or a similar one in ribbed clear glass BUT... if you have doubts, don't let them rush you. Put in your island lights and just have this one left as a wired box in the ceiling. If you need a fixture in it to pass inspection, throw up something cheap. It does NOT need to be ordered now if you aren't sure. (If PB has a good return policy, might as well order it though!) It's and easy quick DIY project to install a light fixture so there is no need to commit before you're ready. Don't need to have it picked out for when the electrician is there....See MoreUrgent advice needed - need to pick granite installer
Comments (5)my sister works in the installed sales department at Lowe's. She deals with complaints and customer satisfaction, etc., every day. We got a lower bid (not much lower) for our granite top but went with a Lowe's installer because of what I know about their satisfation policy. You will be happy or they will replace it. You're buying an insurance policy which you won't get anywhere else. I know because I bought an ugly orange, resin pooled defective $1500 cambria island top and I HATE it. It's getting replaced with granite. We are stuck eating the expense of this $1500 top because we didn't buy it from Lowe's or Home Depot....See MoreADVICE NEEDED! Comments (11)Good stuff from Beverly above. If you're a visual person (like me) you can also try the balloon trick. Blow up some balloons to be the same size as the lights (as close as possible.) Or you could mock something up with cardboard which would work well since your lights are rectangular (and very cool by the way.) Then hang your mockups on strings from the ceiling. You can play with positioning and length of string to see what you think. Stand by them to check your sight lines when working at the counter, and check them from further away to see how they look. I did this when I replaced a light in my kitchen with a light that has 3 separate globes that can be hung at different heights. I moved my table under the mocked up "light", sat the kids down for dinner, and fiddled around with the strings until I was happy with the heights of the balloons compared to the table. Then I kept the mockup hung nearby for the electrician to follow as a guide....See MoreLisa Frye
