Nice house. Is it a cedar shake roof? Painting the brick will make the small windows on the left really stand out and maybe not in a good way. Any chance you can enlarge them? Your roof lines are really lovely and balanced. By painting without adding more interest to the left side, the house could look unbalanced.

Yes on roof. Would be difficult to enlarge windows on left. The far left is an over tub window that cannot be enlarged.

There is a large gap between the windows. Can you take out some of those small bushes and plant something taller to fill in the space?

I think I would keep you brick as it is. I agree with the suggestion to get an ornamental tree in the middle of the two windows. I would plant it out in the yard in front of the existing bushes.

You have what look like a very wide front door. I think one with glass and full length sidelight would command more attention. I would also like to see windows on the garage doors.

Hmmm, I really don't think the mock up by houssaon makes the house look better, so definitely don't paint the brick a light color. I don't love the brick with the roof, so what if you painted it a darker color? In this pic, the body of the house is shingles so ignore that, just the color. Definitely add some interest between the windows. Even if you don't paint the brick, paint the garage doors darker to blend better with the brick. I had garage doors that were high contrast with the body of my house. My dear friend said it was like two beady eyes staring out. I painted them the same color as the house, dressed them up with some hardware and it definitely looks better. Ideally you could replace them with wood look doors but I think your money is better spent elsewhere if you paint them. What zone are you in? That would allow better advice on plantings. I feel you need something large and evergreen to keep the interest in winter.

The only problem with the brick is ...there is too much on the left side ..matching white trim on the little windows would help and adding a white feature between the windows would balance out the overall look..perhaps white lattice?...or a section of matching siding?..

Planting a tree there is not going to brighten up the area..will be too small for a while...then too big over time..and in between will lose leaves leaving you with the same big brick wall...

A more modern door..while it is a step in the right direction...would be tough to tie-in aesthetically with the ...projecting ...existing window on the right...at the entrance...depending on your commitment to change ...re-doing that area could completely change your curb appeal...

I vote for painting this busy brick.

Ornamental trees don't get too big, if they are planted in the right spot.

The Redbud is beautiful nine months of the year with gorgeous flowers in spring and burgundy leaves until they fall. They have a graceful branching habit.

Consider a limewash on the brick. It will make the home more interesting with some of the old brick peeking through.
