I need some '101' type help ..
Comments (1)Hi, I dont know how many times I've seen nurseries put the wrong name on a plant. They are most likely Staghorns. Sometimes they act like they dont care at these places, it makes me angry. Go get it! The other fern is probably Polypodium which is any easy fern to grow. They dont seem to require as much humidity as some & a large specimen can look very striking. Jen...See Morehelp -- large format floor tiles with linear drain
Comments (32)"I'm not very worried about the traction under foot, as my tiles are textured and hence has excellent traction. The look of the large format tile is what I was going after at the very beginning." Me too - ours have texture and are recommended for many applications, but do make sure you test a couple of yours out before you live with them - wet one down outside or in the garage and stand on it. Maybe even add soap. Move around. Bend over and pretend to pick up the soap. I was OK with them but after doing this a couple of times, my husband felt he definitely could slip (especially as we age) on a 12x24 tile. And he's pretty agile. The tile setter and the GC both recommend more grout lines for safety. I LOVE the large format but made the concession....See MoreWhat type of water filter should I get? I need a course: Filters 101.
Comments (6)Sorry, I didn't see your comment until now - better 2 years late than never. My plumber installed an Aqua Pure filter about 20 years ago and I've never had a problem with it. If you haven't already installed something, try looking at their 102T or 141T models. There are other equally good brands though - my current water treatment company uses Big Blue. The most important thing is to choose the replacement cartridge that you want to use and then choose the appropriate assembly to go with it. Small carbon filters can be very slow (the first one I installed was 3 gpm), so you'll want a bigger one with a high flow rate if you're filtering the water for your entire house. I currently use an Aqua Pure AP817 filter which has a 10gpm flow rate. It works well, but it's pricey (about $32.50 through Amazon Subscribe & Save)....See MoreHelp: Drain flies in linear shower drain
Comments (12)For the drain that's tiled over, some drain covers are like a shallow "metal pan" that can have the tile inset within them. The tiled metal pan can still be removed as a whole to clean the drain underneath. Some are simple friction fit and pop right out. Some use a tool. Check the drain manufacturer's website. Or ask the tile setter!...See Morepaddykk
