The windows are small and the room gets very little light..The adjoining rooms are painted inSW EnjoyableYellow which is a very nice soft yellow. I don't think I will like that with the blue coach. I know the two oolors often work well together but I'm just not feeling it.

Kristine, you need multiple pigments in the formula. Whenever you have a color like Waterbury Cream that contains a yellow colorant, like yellow oxide, and black which is used to tone it down, it create within the color a dimension of a green cast. The aspect of green is always there because it's intrinsic to the paint color due to the mix of colorants. Whether the green cast shows in a room or not depends entirely on the quality of light. There has to be a similar aspect of green within the light source to "catch" the green cast in the paint color and reflect it back into the room so you can see it. One of your rooms doesn't have that quality of green within the light, the other one does. It's that simple. You have a quality of light that goes from one extreme to the other. We know that because you noticed that every warm color looks dirty in the morning and on fire in the afternoon. So the answer is a paint color that can go from one extreme to the other too. One that is mixed full spectrum, like Ellen Kennon Full Spectrum Paints or multi-pigmented like from C2 Paints.

Abundant light typically strips chroma (or colorfulness) from paint color. White is a different story. White wall colors typically do well in abundant light. The key to taking the "harsh" or stark edge off of white is multi-pigment rather than a can of base paint inherently tinted by the titanium dioxide (which is very white) with a shot of black to help with hide. A good white wall color is complex while still reading as some version or universal interpretation of "white". I would suggest you check out Ellen Kennon's white paint colors. Thank you for your help everybody, I finally found one color that works in both rooms. It is a BM Gentle Cream which is in the off-white collection. I wanted more color but it looks like with the northern exposure combined with the low ceiling and narrow rooms there is just no visual space for anything more intense. Gentle Cream actually lives up to its name, it doesn't look pink or peach in either room and not too yellow either (Papaya was a little too yellow). And yes, the type if bulbs makes a big difference. We have some kind of "true light" in the DR, similar to Reveal and this particular color looks more yellow there. The LR has halogen recessed lights and the color has a slight green tint to it in that room. I also encountered this issue in my kids' bathroom. Picked a countertop which looked beige-cream in the showroom, almost exactly like the color of the tile we selected. I did cheked the sample at home but during the day, the lighting wasn't istalled yet in the bathroom. Once installed, the counter looked almost yellow in the bathroom with the regular flood bulbs. I couldn't believe I was so off with the color! However, after we switched the bulbs to white light it looks a lot closer to what I thought I picked
