Replacement for baseray cast iron radiator (hot water)

I have a 12'x15' kitchen, heated by a 9' baseray cast iron baseboard radiator fed by hot water. The heat is nice, but the radiator need to go to make room for a sensible layout (since it prevents base cabinets or appliances from being placed on the only largely uninterrupted long wall).
What are my options for replacing it? There is not another spot where it will fit and my understanding is that removing a section of it to shorten it is likely to break the seals, rendering it useless.
Should I go with toekick heaters, wall-hung European style steel radiators, or what?
The whole house has the same baseboard radiators. The dining room is largely open to the kitchen and has two radiators, one of which faces the kitchen, but given our New England winters I don't think it is prudent to remove the radiator and rely on heat coming from the dining room.
We are looking at hardwood or maybe cork or linoleum flooring in the kitchen, so radiant floors are (sadly) probably not a good option.
Thanks!
