I've only used Windows Movie Maker. It's clumsy, but it gets the job done. I'd like something easier too.

I've never used PhotoStory but found these instructions online. Make sure your computer has a DVD burner and that it is working. If the instructions below don't work, open Nero (which I also don't use) and create a copy by dragging the file into a new burn project window. Other than that, can't help you much. Good luck. Insert a blank recordable DVD into your DVD burner. On the Save your story page, click Save your story for playback on your home DVD player. Click Next to temporarily save the photo story. On the Completing Photo Story for Windows page, click Continue and save your story to a DVD for playback on your home DVD player. In the Create a DVD dialog box, do the following: * In the DVD Title box, type a title for your DVD. * In the Video Title box, type a title for the photo story video. * If you have more than one DVD burner installed on your computer, make sure that you choose the correct DVD burner. Click Create DVD. The time it takes to save the story to DVD is determined by the overall performance of your computer system, the length of your story, and the recording speed of your DVD burner. In the Disc Create Complete dialog box, click No to close the dialog box, If you want, save the project for your story. To save the project, click Save Project, and then in the File name box, type a name for your project, and then click Save. By saving the project for your story, you can later open the project in Photo Story 3 and make additional changes, and then save it to your computer or save it to another recordable DVD.

I assume you are using Windows XP? It will not burn directy from WMM to a DVD - but there is a way! I do it all the time. You will need some type of burning software, which, if you have a DVD burner, you probably already have. I use Roxio, but Nero is also a popular brand. I have also used Sonic with great sucess. Probably some free ones that could be downloaded if you don't have any of those. Here are the steps to be able to burn your slide show or video compilation to DVD. Under step 3. Finish Movie select SAVE TO MY COMPUTER. It will take you to the Save Movie Wizard 1.Saved Movie File Name your movie as desired - I rename it so I can tell it is not the original WMM file. I save it to My Videos - I think this is the default. You will need to locate it later when you want to burn it. 2 Movie Setting choose the 3rd option other settings ...on the drop down of that option choose High Quality NTSC It will then save it to your hard drive, in the My Videos file. It takes a little while, depending on the size of your project. You will also need some free space on your hard drive. Open up your burning software to create a DVD (not a data DVD, but a DVD project) - import the correct file from My Videos and burn away!
