Thanks so much! Here is the layout for our bathroom. It looks like I can fit a 33" cabinet (a 12" bank of drawers with a 21" door) and place the sink on the 21" side. I think it will work. There will be one large mirror framed with mosaic tile that covers the wall (mosaics will run a 4" frame around the mirror). With the sink off center I can do without the backsplash on the side wall too. Now to speak with the contractor as the rough plumbing last week before they laid the subfloor earlier this week. I'm essentially shifting the sink about 3" from the original plan so hopefully it's not too much of a pain to do this. Thanks!!

Look for a horizontal vanity type light. Some have movable back plates to cover an off center box. Others can be easily adapted to allow you to mount it to your box. Also, look for one with a continuous back plate that is over 4" tall. That way it will fully cover your box. Your electrician might have to do some "custom" work, but it's nothing major.

I'll be the defending voice. You have a lot of shades with those...shade shade shade everywhere. And then another that does not match in the center? I actually think it's bad design. And with two vanities in eyes view, the lighting for those should match in both style and placement. I'd do the sconces on both and ditch the bar light and look to something non fabric nd non shade for the center...or go with no shades on the sconces...but lose some shades! Too much of a good thing is....well in this case, too much. As to the drum shade idea...I'm assuming that you have checked code? Open fixtures (non water approved like the drum you are looking at) need to be at least eight feet up from the surface of the tub or sinks and three feet out (draw a box in your minds three feet outdated froall water and eight foot up from the faucets). Either way, that drum is cool, but fabric is a mistake and too many drums gets a bit noisy :)

Instead of trying to find a light that will fit a square peg in a round hole, why not just have the electrician come out and lower the boxes. When the light comes at you, it's much more flattering than from above you. I joke all the time that I'm bald in the closet (overhead light only) but gorgeous at the vanity. LOL If you get the right sconces and placement, I'd bet you won't even turn on those overhead cans except to clean. Good luck!
