Need help picking dining room chandelier
I moved my dining room into the room adjacent to the kitchen because I changed the dining room to a lounge/Pilates reformer room. The new room where the dining table is now is completely open to the kitchen. The furniture is very traditional and both pieces are antiques that I received from relatives. Dining table and chairs are French County style and the sideboard is Jacobean. All pieces are solid wood and very well made so I do want to keep them. However, my house is not traditional but more MCM/contemporary in layout and feel (built 1970). I do like to mix thing up so I want to get a chandelier that is not traditional but can transition from the traditional furniture to a more eclectic feel. The current rug is a place holder until we get the new dark LVP floors installed.

Need help picking out a rug for dining room.
Comments (3)The other colors in the house are neutrals, beige, light gray and cream. Open concept area. The kitchen has cream colored cabinets with a brown and off white counter top. I need some color and don't know if I should go with a round rug or 8x10 . The light definitely must go, contractor special. 3 years agoBudget wise I was hoping to stay around $500.00 but realize I may need to up that a bit.
I was also thinking of the stained glass tree window when considering the new fixture. My DH designed that window and my dad made it. I would like the fixture to enhance that feature if possible.This one has leaves and I like it but I think it's too traditional, right?
As for additional lighting I was going to add a few cans to the ceiling plus there are lamps on the server.

3 years agoOh that's a winner! Ive seen that light before, and it can sway to mcm. I would change out the buffet lamps and possibly the mirror to help pull the room the more transitional side of that. its 27wx 32H that would work.

3 years agowas thinking about what RL said about bringing a more transitional style into the table lamps... you may not want to change up what you have, but thought these were simple and lean MCM and 70s to me.
