I agree about the light fixture. As for the rug, I can't really tell you since we haven't seen other rooms with furniture in them to determine your style, but please make sure that the rug is large enough. The bigger the rug the larger your room will look, but there's also the problem of being able to pull chairs back comfortably if the rug is too small. Your dining set is very nice.

The other colors in the house are neutrals, beige, light gray and cream. Open concept area. The kitchen has cream colored cabinets with a brown and off white counter top. I need some color and don't know if I should go with a round rug or 8x10 . The light definitely must go, contractor special. I usually choose neutral colors and add accessories with color because I can change them with the seasons or if I get bored. My style is eclectic, pottery barn, traditional, country cottage. Thanks!
