Dimming Lights ?

Hi wanted to know, im looking for a ceiling fan with a light. needs to be able to dim aswell.

is the bulb the only factor that needs to be considered when looking for this? or does the fan have to have the option for this?

so confused? most of the sites im on don't mention dimmable at all so just trying to figure it out.

The dimmer is usually controlled at the switch which is purchased separately from the fan. Unless you already have circuits wired for separate fan and light controls, it could be difficult to place a light on a dimmer switch separate from the fan, I think (not an expert, just have done a few very simple home wiring projects). There are ceiling fans with lights that come with remote controls, so you might check those out to see if they could offer some of the functionality you're looking for.

If the box in the ceiling isn't wired with two circuits, then the easiest way is to buy a fan with a remote control. If you still have to wire it, then you can run a double circuit from a pair of wall switches, one of which is a dimmer for the light. Some fans, however, don't allow you to run the light wire down to the light kit (I ran into this problem when I was trying to install one that way).

I have a GE XL44 (model: JGBS23WEV4WW) gas oven / range. It came with our house, so it's at least 13+ yrs old. A few months back, I noticed that the clock / timer light was slightly dim. Over the weeks, it's progressively become dimmer, to the point where numbers are not readable (even in the dark). My assumption is that the clock is still in working order, as it will beep if I press timer button. However, I honestly have no way to truly confirm it. The oven and stove-top all seem to be in working order, so I'm wondering if there a simple fix to replace some type of bulb? However, my limited knowledge in this realm leads me to think there is an LED / electronics card that needs to be replaced. Any thoughts / guidance / advice?

What size can is it (4", 5", 6")? What is the depth of the can, from ceiling to top inside? What type of LED is installed? If it is a "bulb" with some sort of cover over it, you can probably do significantly better. If you get something like the 800 lumen version of the CREE CR6 (assuming 6" can), you should have plenty of light for the shower. Give more details, and people can provide better advice.

dimmed led lights cause tv interference

Hello, We recently added a dimmer to our recessed led lights in our family room. This has caused some intermittent interefence on our cable tv. Interestingly it only happens on one channel (703) at different times (usually at night) so I'm assuming it's a particular frequency we have problems with. Since it only happens sometimes, I think the bitrate of the program on also matters. When I first noticed the problem, it would go away if I turned the lights up full (no dimming) but now when the interference happens, changing the dimmer doesn't seem to matter. The tv cable is a shielded coax and when I ran it, I did my best to cross the electrical lines at 90 degree angles. Also, I connected the cable to a splitter that I grounded to a junction box. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Would a better quality dimmer help? I just bought a random one a Lowe's. Is there anyway I can shield the cable even more? Thanks for any help.

1. Start by looking inside the ceiling electrical box. How many wires are there excluding the ground (the bare copper wire)? There are probably either two or three. Take a picture of the wires.
2. What kind of control is in the electrical box on the wall that will control the future fan? Take a pic.

I just bought a fan with dimmer - nothing special about the electrical. In this model below I did get an adapter to use LED bulbs but that was all - read Amazon reviews or ask back and I'll track the info down. I'm sure there's many other models that are similar.
