Hi Greentoe, Yep. What I do is fill sink up with water..while water is running I add 2 drops of dish soap. I then place plants in water a few inches below container rim. Plants sit in water 10-15 mins. Both your Cals are beautiful, but my favorite is Makoyana, but, I'm partial to mako's, so don't go by my opinion. :) BTW, I also spray leaves with the sink sprayer. Water removes dust particles, cleans leaf pores and leaves, 'safer than leaf shines,' reduces chances of insects, and increases humidity. Cals love humidity!!! I allow each plant to air dry, then place in their regular spot. Your Cals are lovely, Green. Good luck with your new greens. Are they your first Calatheas? Toni

We did a major remodel and addition over the last year and a half and had two rooms we hadn’t touched cause we just couldn’t move everything around at the same time. We are finishing them up right now and it’s so nice to not have a part of the house that makes me depressed to see. One room used to be my daughter’s-it will now be TV/guest room as we turned old TV room into kitchen. The other is my son’s bedroom-he had awful carpet in it that the cats had peed on and he never spent time there-wants to theme it to Ravenclaw, and picked the paint colors himself (blue ceiling). I hope we have these pretty dialed in when it’s all over, and finish painting all the doors and trim throughout the house-last fiddly bits from remodel.

My SIL called this morning and described a 'drive-up' birthday she had gone to last Friday. About nine social distancing cars pulled up to the birthday boy's house (he was 80 Friday), parked, honked. (afternoon, not evening). They took turns getting out and tying balloons, leaving cards at the driveway mailbox. Then, keeping far enough apart, they sang happy birthday and waved, clapped for him on his porch. And left again, she said the whole exercise took about 12 minutes. Arranged by his wife.

Sharon, I sold my sailboat two years ago, so I'm not affected. But, the yacht club where it was kept has really stringent rules in place. Most sailboats of the size I had, 22', have to be craned into the water. The crane is not operational yet. The boats are moored close together on the docks, so that's a problem. They have kept the club house locked, so the bathrooms can't be used. Of course, you can't race these bigger boats by yourself, so all the races have been cancelled too. I'm sure there are a lot of disappointed racers out there. At my age, I'm happy to be out on the water in our pontoon boat, which has not been launched yet either. My husband can't put our dock in by himself anymore, and the dock installers are backed up. We hope to have our boat in the water in two weeks or so. It will be nice to be out there and maybe do a little fishing. Of course, a cocktail cruise is always fun too.
