Walk & Pick Orchard - Walk Through My Garden Again
Comments (3)Thanks Konrad. We did quite a bit of hardscaping, and will be doing a little bit more with the patio cover, arbors and the fountain. But, it will be very pretty when it's done, and we'll have a peaceful place to take a nap and for company to spread out. The orchard you see in the background behind our property is a lovely older Valencia orange orchard that sadly has been abandoned. It has been in the family for 2 generations, possibly 3, and the cost of water in S. California has put them out of business. It just breaks my heart. The oranges are the sweetest Valencia oranges I've ever had, and they make the most delicious juice. Patty S....See MoreGarden Walk Garden Junk
Comments (14)I see I put the same pic twice on the barnwood/window project...here's the other view. Purplemoon...add any pics you wish to inspir. album...garden walks are open for the public/fundraisers & anyone can take & share pics...I always find some good "card" photos on these walks. I'm wondering if the boot roof was recycled from a worn out birdhouse??? So cute! And the print behind the glass being weather worthy has me a bit stumped...so thanks for the idea, smick. thanks for lookin'! Jeanne S....See MoreOT:Step right up, Daniella's FreakShow Continues...
Comments (20)Daniella, I think your right about your coneflowers. I have some that look the very same. From everything I read it said to discard the plants and others that show symptoms. It is my understanding that it can be passed on to other plants by bugs eating or gathering nector from one plant and then spreading it to the next plant they feed on. Makes sense to me. They also said it's spread by some kind of weeds in the flowerbeds. I'm like you I read so much about it my head was spinning. After reading about it I pulled all mine up. Let's just say I decided it was something I didn't want taking over my other plants and flowers. It is considered to be a SICK PLANT and therefore should not be shared with other gardeners unless they want the infection around there other plants. I don't want any, I also thought mine were UGLY. Everything was GREEN stems, leaves, flowers, just too much of a good thing. I like vivid colors on my coneflowers. LOL Good Luck and Happy Gardening, P.S. I wish I had known before you didn't know about Birds and Blooms. I would have sent you a stack of my old ones. Your kids would have loved to just look at all the beautiful photos of flowers and birds. I gave them all away at the plant swap....See MoreWalking Dead Season 3 Starts Sunday Night (Tomorrow)
Comments (2)Can't wait! AMC was running a marathon of previous seasons today and I was babysitting 8 week old grandson Patrick. We watched about 45 minutes together before he had to take a nap. He promised me he wouldn't have nightmares....See Moredjacob Z6a SE WI
