Blue, Blue-Gray paint colors? Pix?
Comments (3)We are going with Sherwin Williams Rain in our dining room, laundry, and a half bath. It is a blue with gray undertones, in my opinion. I bought one of the small sample sizes from sherwin williams to try it out to be sure and it is beautiful! I got the inspiration from this house...http://hallmarkhomesinternationalblog.wordpress.com/2011/05/03/wilson-bridge-wine-dine/...See MoreGrey cabinets turned out blue
Comments (55)It's a lovely kitchen! For many of us, change is hard. I had grave misgivings about my new kitchen when it was first installed - hated the glass doored cabinets, hated the crown trim, had doubts about the color. I got used to the cabinets - I had not realized (nor had my KD pointed this out to me), that all my inspiration pictures had one single unit, not separate boxes, so I surprised at all those seams. I think now, it could have been ordered without seams, but neither of use knew at the time. It was just a surprise and I don't like even good surprises! I found a way for them to add trim to the crown area and it looks SO much better. The color was fine when the walls were given a second coat of paint. When I change something, it's often a problem for me to figure out if I don't like it because it's "different" or because I just really don't like it. Time figures it out for you.... SO glad you're happy and I think it looks terrific. Yes, to painting that crown like the hood....See MoreInterior Paint-The gray color i chose looks like it's blue, advice pls
Comments (9)but i did google it and read that dolphin fin has a blue undertone. but i also read that dolphin fin is a a warm gray, and i also read it gives a true gray color. Since Diana invited me. :) That one is easy to explain. Won't help where you are but at least you'll understand what you found when you Googled Dolphin Fin. It doesn't have a blue undertone. It's not about undertones. Instead, every color belongs to a hue family. Dolphin Fin belongs to the Yellow hue family - the very end of the Yellow hue family right where the Green-Yellow hue family starts. Can see what I mean on this color wheel. Hue family is determined using a balanced quality of light. What a balanced quality of light means is a quality of light with a nice, balanced mix of all the wavelengths in the spectrum. So when you have that kind of mixed-bag, balanced quality of light in your space, Dolphin Fin will look "just gray". Some may call it "true", others "warm". but overall "just gray". When the light doesn't have a mix of wavelengths, when it has more blue to green wavelengths, then Dolphin Fin will shift and appear as tho it is blue. Nothing is hidden or under anything. It's just the way the light is and it's just the way Dolphin Fin looks under that *color* of lighting. Changing light bulbs will change how it looks. Because if you change the light you change how a color looks. That's just the way color works. But if it's looking blue when the lights aren't on, then that's an inherent light issue. Can't move your windows and doors....See Moregreen cabinets turned out blue in daylight!
Comments (15)Ok yes, I looked up some images of the River Blue, and it does look quite similar to some fantasy brown I have seen. Both are super pretty! Fantasy brown can vary in color quite a lot. For instance, here are two slabs at my stone yard right now. I definitely see greens in this first one. Although this one, I just see light bluish grey. Does your stone have any little hints of green mixed in it at all? I am not saying that it has to have green in order to go well with the green cabinets. But if it did, that would be nice. Can you maybe post a picture showing more of the colors in your countertops? I know I would be pretty upset if I thought I was getting green cabinets and got blueish grey instead. I almost think I see a hint of the green trying to show its pretty face on that corner cabinet in this picture. Do you see any of the green during the day in real life? Or is it only when it is totally dark outside and you have the overhead lights on that you can see it? If I am understanding correctly, even at night you mostly see blue, but a maybe just a tad more green then in the day? Can we see a picture at night too? This is driving me a little crazy, so I can only imagine how you must feel!!! 😤🤪 🤪...See MoreHailee Raines
