Hey everyone! We received some awesome advice for our condo renos a couple of years ago, so we'd love your help with our deck layout!

  • Deck size: ~ 500 sq feet
  • Proposed raised deck; 4' from the existing railing (for safety + a walkway to utilize the space)
  • Proposed raised deck: x2 stairs (including landing) around the perimeter, with the finished height of 18-20"
  • Decking finish: composite decking OR decking tile in 10x10' sections (moveable if needed for strata repairs)
  • A proposed water wall, with a living wall on either side (*see diagram)
  • Seating; what's the best way to utilize the space for entertaining, yet to still have the option to see the view sometimes? Any furniture style suggestions?
  • Would love a fire pit (gas)/low table
  • May place a compact 2-4 person table set OR modern bistro set by the x3 palm trees
  • *Wishlist: the ability to add a 4 person hot tub (pending strata approval in the future, not mandatory).
  • *Wishlist: removable sails/awning etc above the seating area, with string lights

*Pardon the blurry overhead pic from above; for reference.

*Drawing not to scale, other than listed measurements. For general shape only - proposed raised deck in grey.

*Palm trees are pre-existing

*Existing patio furniture will be replaced; our interior is timeless modern (ie shaker cabinets that are cool grey & white + stainless steel finishes, we'd love to carry the same look/feel to the exterior).

Thank you so much everyone! We'll be doing the renos again ourselves to save costs. We're super excited to hear your thoughts! :)

(old top-down view); Living wall + water wall to the right may help keep the interior cooler, and muffle city noise.

French patio doors looking on to patio (would love to put more greenery to diminish the impact of the peach paint on the exterior); pardon the mess, it's the only recent-ish pic I could find.
