What paint finish should I choose?

I am painting the crown moldings, doors and triims in my house. All the walls have wallpaper. Different types.

The mouldings look like they have yellowed haven't been painted in many years. They look white but not a bright white. Also when touch them they don't see to be semi-gloss, nor satin but I dont think its flat either. I need some advice on the finish and possible shades of white. My wife feels that moulding should blend in with the wall paper(subtle) but I think they should be bold and accentuate the wall. Why have crowns like these that you dont see when you enter the room. BTW I am the home owner on lock down doing this. lol

I always paint trim with satin or semi gloss since it is good for wiping off now and then.

I always paint trim semigloss which helps accentuate the shape of the trim.
If the paint is old it might be oil based which yellows over time. It may have originally been a pretty bright white. Today’s latex paint will not yellow.

Kathy, you have been given excellent advice in each of the above comments To find a color in the same basic hue, check the paler colors on the color chart for SW 6223; if you want a coordinating color, ask for that info at your paint store. Given that this is a north facing room please be sure you want a cool color like blue as opposed to a warmer color such as a warm cream,yellow or even a soft pink color.

😂 that’s why it’s Never a good idea to pick a color on line! Unless your actually standing in the space it’s almost impossible to get a true read on what your looking at! Your headboard looks rather green to most of us although the darker squats seem almost purple and that’s what I’m guessing is the blue that is what is there in real life! That being the case then search for something that looks right to you and show us when your done!

Your house is very pretty, and its also very neutral. I would pick a color that stands out and shows the entry well from the street. Pick your favorite brighter color and paint it. In my case, I would paint it a nice brighter shade of turquoise, since that is my favorite color. You need to pick your favorite color.
