New shutters/roof/door paint-need color help
Comments (8)Each region of the country has it's own look. I'm not sure if would be considered appropriate for you area. Personally, I would update the white and go with a light to medium shade of tan/taupe or even a sage/olive if it would work with the brick. I'm partial to black shutters and a black door. I can't tell if the dark colored brick is a black or a brown so the above mentioned choice might be a better choice if it is a dark brown. I would absolutely get rid of the blue because that makes the house look more dated....See MoreNeed to change shutter color and peak shingles, with a red roof : (
Comments (15)Lovely home! A color consult on site will be so helpful to you, that's great! Too bad your photo wasn't a bit clearer to see more detail. You might want to add a closeup photo of your stone and brick to your next comment. If you prefer to keep the shutters, I would look to the mortar, stone and brick for a neutral, maybe a warm grey/brown that just melts in and does not stand out. I'd use the same color for the shakes and two vents, the light trim will then be highlighted. I assume your front door is stained wood, not paint. I would avoid green because of the reddish/green 'Christmas' palette of home, sidewalk, landscaping and grass. Of course you didn't ask, but I gotta say...hire a pro to prune your shrubs back to their natural relaxed form with hand pruners. No power trimmer. Keep them below windows, or prune the burgundy ones to a more open, not tight form but no higher. Can't tell what they are, weigela?...See MoreHelp needed matching my shutter color with new roof color!!!
Comments (5)“ I would have to rethink the black over the bottom windows . . . “. Why? I guess if you wanted the black to be gone, reshingle the roof-ette on the right to match the regular roof, and paint that black trim piece (is that what it is?) on the left to match the body of the house....See MoreI need help choosing a roof color, shutter color, new door style
Comments (6)Remove the shutters they actually detract form the windows the house is such a mish mash of styles i would keep the front door a simple one painted the same as the house that entry has so much going on no need for anything else.IMO the front porch is all wrong for the house and I would remove it and replace the doors with a large window to make it look like it was never a porch.Sorry but the architect that designed this house should get another job....See MoreDenita
