a white puss like wound?
Comments (3)Hospital tank first off, unless he she is alone. Sounds either like columinaris (which is bacterial) or fungus... How exactly does the white stuff look. Is it long and stringy? Is it small compact and fluffy like mold spore fungus? The great thing about goldfish is that they do well with the old fashioned salt water (aquarium salt not table) cure. From the Dr. Innes book Goldfish varieties: Salt Treatment. Most of the disease producing bacteria of fresh water are unable to live in moderate salt solutions. The point then is to find the right strength of solution that will kill the bacteria without injuring the fish. (treat in shallow water out of bright light when sick) He uses up to 2 teaspoonfuls to each gallon of water - start with salt mixed in seperate container of same water, and slowly add over time (not all at once) Make sure you keep it filtered (unlike meds can keep charcoal in) and extra airation. Daily change of solution. If no improvement after in four days, gradually increase the strength of salt solution for two or three days until it is up to two ounces (four teaspoonfuls) to each gallon of water. After remaining in this for two days the salt proportion is slowly weakened down again to the first formula.... If you are able to decide what it is and need meds salt will work with them as well (unless otherwise stated). ..................................... After using many diff meds (and a great deal of money) to treat rescue bettas with the following (water supply during heat wave here) I went back to basic salt water cure, and it made all the difference. (hopefully others will add to info as without picture or more details???) Try to describe in more detail if you can? Best Sherry (by puss do you mean actually oozing some fluid out? Does it look like an ulcer. Or fungussy? Do you see anything that looks like a parasite, little white thread or so? Hole in the head.... Here is a sight for common goldfish diseases (I used it for other non goldfish) it mentions salt in most applications with or without other meds. Melifix I have had no problems with so did you over dose? Make sure you mix all meds with other water fist then dribble into hospital tank... Comments (5)You're welcome roseunhip! I have chicken wire around alot of my trees, to deter just about everything! I've actually seen woodchuck climb trees! But I think that the mark you're seeing is what they do to mark their territory.......although that is just a guess on my part. We used to have alot of woodchucks, and they never bothered my garden (with it's 3' chickenwire fence), but I've heard from others, that woodchucks can wipe out a garden overnight. Good luck with your tree healing. They are pretty good at doing that....See MoreFoods you grew up *thinking* you disliked?
Comments (23)As a child I ate liver and onions, turnip greens and mustard greens, okra, eggplant, tomatoes. But no way, no how would I eat yellow crookneck squash. My parents had a garden and grew tons of squash. I can still remember sitting at the dining room table at my Grandfather's at Sunday lunch and refusing to eat the squash. Now, I could absolutely eat my weight in yellow squash....See MoreFoods you don't like now that you liked growing up
Comments (21)There's not anything that I can think of that I liked as a child but don't like now. But there are a few things that I ate for days on end than now would not be tolerable!!.I drank an egg nog every day for breakfast for years...no cereal, no toast, no egg....just an egg nog and a small glass of orange juice. And I ate ham and cheese sandwiches for years for school lunch. I was a picky PICKY eater my mother said....didn't like most vegetables nor any fruit with much texture. No citrus but for strained juice, no grapes unless they had no seeds and you peeled it. But I loved liverwurst, head cheese, ll kinds of salami, olives, pickles, pumpernickle bread with butter and raw onion, but no squash of any sort, no broccoli, no cauliflower and no green beans....but creamed wax beans were oK...go figure. I like all that stuff now....but although I haven't tried any in many many years I probably would still like a Hostess Snowball and a Hostess Cupcake...but not sure about those brightly colored "twin" sickles" sort of frozen thing.. There are lots of things I used to love....that I can't stand any more...not because I have changed but because the product has...like Swanson's frozen pot pies, frozen breaded fish...used to be real fish...now some of it is like "fish hamburger" formed...ugh! Pot pies no longer have much in them but "gravy"....and frozen pizzas make a big deal of they contain some "real" cheese....See Morehhireno
