How often do you brush/comb/arrange your hair?
Comments (56)Coming out of lurkdom due to a dire need for information. :) I have very curly hair. When pulled straight it is to the middle of my shoulder blades, but it draws up to shoulder length. Most days I wear it in a ponytail, because I run and work outside. Some days, I'd like it to look nice. I live in the South, with the humidity. I wear it long for two reasons: 1) my mother made me wear it short as a child, when all of the other girls had Marsha Brady hair. Everyone thought I was a boy. 2) If I wear it short, in the summer it looks like a Brillo pad. To those of you who referred to curl gel or other products, can you please be more specific? I want to be able to wash and go, partly because I've never figured out how to blow dry it without frizz. Also, I rarely want to take the time. I've tried a number of anti-frizz products, but have had no luck. Thanks in advance!...See MoreHair obsessed...
Comments (158)You’re hair is very much like my DD’s. You both can wear any style beautifully and never seem to have a bad hair day. I like your newest cut a lot, it’s a little edgy and really cute. Unless it has lots of body, (which mine doesn’t) thick hair really isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. I just had my hair thinned and 4 inches cut off and I still it feel like I’ve got a mop on my head. My hair also grows super fast which doesn’t help the cause either. Gahhh!!!...See MoreWhat is your biggest DIY fail?
Comments (53)Is this limited to home decor? My biggest fail was wine making...oh, I made delicious homemade fruit wine. This wasn't the sweet, undrinkable wine, but nice red wine made from berries. Not sweet at all, but with a fruity finish. Gorgeous colors - the raspberry was the best. I made gallons of it for several years. Moved to a new house without an ideal place to store the carboys as the wine worked - the little yeasties eating the sugar and turning it into something wonderful. Every once in a while, you have to "rack" the wine, taking the clearest part off the dregs in the bottom. The 5 Gal carboys are heavy and you have to siphon the working wine off the dregs into a clean carboy. One year I was making blackberry wine and picked all the wild blackberries for 10 gallons of wine (a lot of berries and time and thorns). I'd racked it a few times over the months and it was getting close to being done. I was moving the carboys in and out of a closet in my utility room when I accidentally clinked two together. Just in the right way to break one, so 5 gallons of blackberry wine gushed all over the floor (linoleum luckily). My husband was out in the yard and I'm not sure what I exclaimed but OH NO!!! probably. Maybe I called for him, maybe he just heard me in distress, I can't remember. He came in the door and saw all this red liquid all over the floor and thought (for a second) that it was blood (think Dexter) and almost fainted. It was a big job to clean up; the linoleum didn't stain, but I'm sure the subfloor still looks like a crime scene. My last winemaking adventure and my biggest DIY failure....See MoreFollow Up: Virtue Hair Products for Volume
Comments (66)I ordered the shampoo, conditioner, and primer. I got the travel size of the conditioner because I use a lot less than the shampoo. Still, this stuff is REALLY expensive. I've used the shampoo and conditioner twice and see no difference in my hair. I used the primer once and hated my hair that cycle. It could just be one of those days when I would have hated my hair anyway, because that's how it goes with me. For volume at the crown I like Aquage Uplifting Foam at the roots. I'm getting a much needed haircut tomorrow and once the shock of that has worn off I'll give the Virtue products another shot. At that price, I need to love what they do to my hair, because I can spend half of what I did (probably even less) and get good results....See Moremtnrdredux_gw
