I would do a slate or stone tile or slate/stone look lvp in the family room and leave the trim alone. You won’t be able to paint the windowpane trim. Tile around the fireplace.

Paint the trim, as Hallett sugested. The wall to wall carpeting also needs to be replaced with wood floors to make it fit in with the rest of the house.

I agree there is nothing traditional about gray trim keep all the trim white and get wood floors to match the rest since nothing screams addition like different flooring and please no vinyl floor in there. The other thing is get the TV off the FP it is way too high and you have walls to put it on . That pink DR would have to go.

I wouldn't paint the trim. The disconnect is that your other windows don't have ANY trim but your other baseboards are natural wood, as well. I'd definitely replace the carpeting with a hardwood floor to match your other rooms. I think your pink dining room is rather charming, but would move the china cabinet out of the corner and rethink all of your wall decor - I think the scale and positioning is off. I think a lovely chandelier would suit your dining room more than the ceiling fan.
