I did. I placed an order that was supposed to ship on the week of 04/27/2020. I sent an email on 05/01 asking for status and never got a reply. So I called the next day and spoke with a guy. He said they had been very busy and would ship my order that day. I called again in the morning on 05/05 and got a voicemail. I left the message. The same person called back in the afternoon to inform me that my order just had been shipped which I got an email for UPS tracking number an hour before. My roses arrived beautifully two days later.

I also spoke with Matt recently regarding a back order. He also told me they‘ve been crazy busy. My roses were sent and received in perfect condition. Maybe keep trying the phone number and leave a message. He is generally really good about calling back

Thank you for posting about the facebook page. I did not know it was there. I have been enjoying the videos and pictures of the roses in the green house. Normally I go and wander around to pick my roses but it has been closed to the public due to the pandemic so I had to order on-line. I got the same relaxing feeling looking at the videos as I do when I go there so it is good to know about it.

I did speak to Matt about 2-3 weeks ago. I asked a question regarding a rose I was considering and mentioned my pick-up, first week in May (last week). He asked that I call before coming and try to schedule it for later in the week since they are crazy busy. I think they do most of their shipping on Mon.-Tues. I decided not to pick it up last week due to the cold weather but was thinking of going this week. We had sleet today and some very cold overnight temperatures so I deciding to leave my roses safe and warm in the green house was the right call.

I received roses last week and spoke to him the week before. I called after receiving no reply to an email. I didn't get a call back so just called until I got Matt on the phone. They are super busy and he's always been really attentive, so I'd just try again until you succeed in speaking to a human. I have extreme confidence they'll make it right.

I have a pending order that was supposed to ship first week of May but I haven't heard anything yet...I am not worried though because I see several of the roses are listed as out of stock (I picked them out a few months ago) so I am thinking that maybe some of the stock didn't root and they might need a bit of extra time before they are ready to ship. Considering we had three inches of snow yesterday I am not in a hurry to get them. If it means stronger healthier roses it doesn't bother me that they might be too busy to email.

I called this morning and set up to get my roses an hour later.

Neil Diamond and Easy on the Eyes both had blooms. Although Neil was on a really long stalk and flopped over. I propped it up for the photo. I suspect the correct thing to do is to plant it really deep to support the long cane. Yes? Or do folks recommend cutting the gorgeous, fragrant flower? If so I will bring it in right away to enjoy.

After I wrote that I realized cutting it off was the right thing to do. The cane was too long and unstable in the pot. How deep should we bury the cane? There is a small "y" near the base of the cane where two previous canes were cut off but it is still a very weak floppy connection with what is probably a very small and somewhat disturbed root system.

I know a lot of orders went out yesterday. I called to see if I needed to switch out any roses (Matt had commented they had trouble with the greenhouse heaters so some of the cuttings weren't doing so well) and asked for Ebb Tide to replace the Oranges N Lemons that didn't make it. He said they are crazy busy but he got my order in the outgoing ones yesterday and I have tracking information. So Saturday is going to be fun!!!

My best time for getting hold of Matt in person is earlier in the morning. Just FYI.

He had said to try to do my pickup later in the week as I think they mail out earlier in the week. I called at 10:30 a.m and got right through. The usual suspects were there working on roses so it looks like they have their full staff. The inside of the greenhouses look beautiful! So many flowers in bloom. I was only able to see them through the plexiglass since they are closed to the public.

I left Easy on the Eyes on the plant.

Althought it is tall it seemed more stable in the pot.

This is Neil Diamond without the flower. Basically the main cane was just wobbly in the pot.

Candy Land is also tall. It is a climber and also seems more stable in the pot. Doesn't seem to have as many leaves as it should. I've also never seen one of their roses wrapped in newspaper.

Should I plant them both deep? There is a "y" at the base where other canes have been cut off. How far underground can this go?

OP and others, please post the photos of your roses when you get them. I really missed being able to wander the green house and see all the roses.

I might plant the baby plants an inch deeper in a bigger pot. Too deep is unnecessary and could be harmful. These baby canes are useful to feed the plant. When the plant is stronger it will put up strong canes. Let the little cane flop if it wants to.

They are going into the ground after an acclimation period with the outdoors. Usually HCR sends along planting instructions but this time they forgot. I'll have to get them off their web site.

Yes, three days ago. I wanted to add another plant to my order and he replied that it was out of stock, although online it was available.

I had spoke to matt about an order a few weeks ago, he said that they had recently updated their computer system and things were a bit hectic which could be why you are having trouble getting a reply.

I recieved my order a few days ago, packing was a bit rough but the plants looked good. Life of the party actually has two blooms on it. I will try to get photos tomorrow as i haven't taken any yet.

Here are the plants I ordered for my friend's garden. They looked really good. He planted them into larger pots until I figure out where they're going and the new fence is up.

Neil Diamond is really pretty. To me it looks like a painted rose so now I know what they are talking about when they say that. The magenta is a very strong color. I wonder if it will be more of a deep pink when it is grown outdoors. The frangrance is very classic rose scent. Like you would find in a bottle of rose water.

Can you all recommend what kind of potting soil you use when put these baby into larger pots? Is Miracle Gro Moisture Control good for these little babies?

I mix my own for short- term growth, so probably not cost efficient so just a couple of roses. Many people use the MGMC with good results, but here with a lot of rain it might rot the roots. Whatever you do use, I might be inclined to add additional perlite to keep the aeration good to encourage root growth and prevent said rot. Some folks put them directly in the soil, but with our heavy soil, I've experienced better growth potting them up for at least a little bit.

I tried to create my own mix but I think it did not drain well. Many leafs turned yellow. I changed the pot using organic potting mix ( Patio Plus from Kellogg) and added a few handful of perlite and it seems still too much water. Can you give me your own mixing recipe? I ordered a bag of pumice (supposed to get it today) and planning to repot them again.

joey - I talked to Matt finally last week Wednesday. We substituted a rose because one was not growing well. He said it would be mailed out that Wednesday or the next day Thursday. I have heard or seen nothing since.

I placed two orders and besides the confirmation I have not heard from them. It's a little bit of a relief that other people receive their roses, I will be waiting :).

It would be nice if they would mention something on their website regarding the delay in orders, like, for example, greenhousesuplies does. Or at least send an e-mail with a shipping delay. My orders should have shipped two weeks ago. I still have plenty of time to plant, but this weekend would have been perfect, oh well what can you do :)

You should call and tell them that. Matt is a friendly responsive person and if people are struggling with the system I'm sure he would want to know about it and do what he can to fix it.

I almost missed it myself. On a normal year I wouldn't have ordered in advance, I would have waited until I went to see the flower. But because of Covid I placed the order on-line, and then almost the next day it was sold out. I think being zone 4, and a new offering, it was snapped up.

I bought Easy on the Eyes after seeing your picture. The one I got was great! Roots coming out the bottom of the pot and has handled the transition to full sun fabulously. Looks to be a great plant.
