If you're adding green just to the one bedroom you're not exactly using the color throughout the whole house. If you would love to use this color in the bedroom I would say do it. You need to please yourself more than anyone else in this. I've used terra cotta red in my dining room (walls and border of Persian carpet), living room (four pillows) and the master (curtain and bedspread) and, since the colors are used in different ways in each room and I've used other colors that are different in each room, it's not at all obvious what I've done, except that there's a feeling of harmony. Go for it if that's what you want!

Texas, I love your apartment! What did you hang the pictures from? A curtain rod? We actually just moved from a very small one-bedroom apartment into a two-bedroom apartment. I don't know if you've encountered this, but everyone always asks us when we're going to buy a house now that we're married. While I'd love to buy, it just doesn't make sense for us right now, and I like the option of having the maintenance man fix up any of my mistakes for me. As for the decor, I think I solved the bathroom problem at least. I changed the white shower curtain to a black one and added hand towels to the back of the toilet. The bedroom, however, is still an issue. I grabbed a small shelf from the living room and placed it there to add some vertical space. We're thinking about adding a wall quote (JoAnn Fabrics has some decals for $20). My husband likes the idea of hanging fabric, but I have no idea how we'd go about that. We tried to pick up an artificial ficas tree from the craft store yesterday, but it wouldn't fit in our car, so that option is out. We also don't trust our cats not to attack it or attempt to climb it.

If you love the blue, then a sapphire sofa in velvet would not be amiss.....add a pair of lounge chairs in a bright turquoise, hot pink, bright orange, neon yellow. I think a rug in grey and white would add brightness and block some of the dark flooring. Large modern are with your room colors would be great....it if often suggested on Houzz that large art can be hung and then all the colors taken from the art work an be used to design the room. A lot of white works nicely with silver and cream. Keep the grey but add two colors all over the room Cherry red with black white grey accents Subtle yellow/cream/honey and white Lime and grey and white Tres chic if you like traditional Bright blue sofa with pop of orange.

I LOVE that lamp! Thank you so much! Yes, his art mostly consists of old black and white photographs, old wooden snow shoes and skis (this is a ski house). He's about to downsize from his primary house in another city and spend more time at the ski house. His primary house has some more colorful art in it that is very beautiful, so I can probably facilitate him bringing some of the art up there.
