Need Help with Master Bedroom Bathroom/Bedroom Layout - 1970s house
Comments (5)I like my first idea best as far as use of space. I know people say not to put toilets on an outside wall. We had one in our last house in Iowa, but we had 2X6 construction. I don't know how high your window is, but I'm guessing the toilet would fit under there. The shower would be 5 feet long or shorter if you want a wider space to get to the toilet. (kind of tight the way I have drawn). You could do a 5 and half foot long shower and do an angled door at the left end to allow room between the shower and toilet. The vanity would be about 7 feet long, unless you do a 60 inch vanity with a linen cabinet at the door. I would reverse entry door swing if you do that.. The second top right could work and you would still have a small closet. The bottom left plan would require waterproofing your front window. Hopefully someone will give you other ideas. The bottom right plan is bigger, but no closet. Each square equals 1 foot....See MoreHome decorating help, master bedroom in victorian/turret
Comments (1)Hi! I'm not sure what the rest of the room looks like, but here are my thoughts: I love the idea of painting this room a light gray with white trim. The vault in turret would look better painted same color as ceiling, I think. Roman shades would look awesome in these windows, inside mount. Personally, I would move the chaise to a different area since it doesn't fit the shape of the turret area. Anything round would fit well in this space, so a round table with two chairs. Or a settee with a curved back. If you walk into this room and the turret area is facing you, you could consider putting your bed here (at an angle coming out at you) so that when you walk in you see this bed in the turret area with the windows behind it as a stunning focal point when you walk in. (Again not sure what rest of room looks like, so this may or may not work) Good luck with the project -- sounds like it'll be a transformation once it's done!...See MoreHelp! master bedroom
Comments (0)Just bought a house. Have absolutely no bedroom furniture besides an actual mattress and box spring to sleep on which is currently on the floor. I just ordered an off white wingback style upholstered fabric bed and it has cherry wood legs. I need help picking out 2 nightstands and either a dresser or chest of drawers that will look good with the new bed coming and will also pair well with each other. Call me boring but I like the matching look, but wanting to kinda steer away from that and make things pop. Wall color is currently like a sky baby blue color. It will be awhile before we could repaint it a different color so we need things that will look good in the room right now....See MoreHelp! Master Bedroom Color
Comments (1)Just want to say that I love your new home! It's a toss-up! I like the all white bedroom, but with a room that large, I would put a touch of color on the walls. Could you do the light blue in the bedroom area and leave the bay area white? That way, most of your white painted wainscoting is covered by bed, dresser and other wall furniture....See MoreDesign Girl
