Help with paint color-can't go inside Sherwin Williams for swatches!

I want to paint my living room and I prefer to use SW paint, however I can't get swatches from there right now, as they are only open for call in orders and curbside pickup. I have gotten swatches for behr & ben moore and am hoping someone can refer me to a similar color from SW.

Behr Marquee Patina MQ6-38

This color looks really good, however I am worried it will be a bit dark on all four walls. When compared to BM colors, this color seems to fall right between the following two colors...

BM HC-136 Waterbury Green (more green)

BM HC-137 Mill Springs Blue (more gray)

Any suggestions for similar or slightly lighter versions of this color in SW colors?

Here are some pictures of my LR to give you an idea of the space. I want to to have a cozy library vibe, but I don't want it to cave like. I have several 3500K ceiling lights (on dimmers) which helps during the day. The bookcase is SW alabaster.

We just painted our house with SW paints - they were very helpful. The guy came out to my car with their fan deck so I could identify the colors I wanted we had good conversations on the phone, they were great at mixing all the samples for me to try and when I got the paint they put it in my trunk for me. I think curbside service is awesome!

There is a website called easyrgb.com where you can type in paint colors and search for matching colors from other brands (use the Match feature). You can also view results exclusively from Sherwin Williams in the drop down menu.

When you get the results, look for a delta of 0.5 or lower for the closest match.

You can go to the App Store on your phone and download the SW ColorSnap app to access all of SW colors. My SW store will get the color swatches I want and meet me at the door. Just jot down the #’s and call them. Or you could call and ask to borrow a fan deck; they are usually pretty accommodating.

but I don't want it to be too bright. Melon Green 18-28 from Pratt & Lambert would give you the look of Recycled Glass, just a little more grayed so it's not as bright. If you don't have a Pratt & Lambert retailer nearby, Sherwin-Williams owns Pratt & Lambert so getting P&L color matches from SW almost always works out very well.

Why can't anyone sell samples in a flat or matte? :/ To me, it does make a difference. I didn't think about waiting till they had sales. I can wait, I'm not in a big hurry. Are you loving the general color now that it's up on four walls lasatx, that's a hard question to answer. I've been thinking about it. In general, I like the color...well, one or two of the colors it can be at any given time. I'm not opposed to the color it's self. I'm opposed to the variety of colors it can turn and with the carpet. It's too bright for the carpet and the ambiance I wanted to project. It COULD look good if I didn't have a preconceived notion of what I expected. It's not the grownup plum I want. If I'm going to stay with purple, I think it's going to have to be a more brown based purple (which was suggested to me in one of my earlier threads on this topic). I originally didn't consider going that dark but I would. The gray based plums are pretty and give that dusky warmth but I don't think the gray base works with the creamy background of the carpet or the reddish brown floral print. I do think it's the magenta that's giving me fits but I've been wrong on ALL counts so far so who knows. When I can get to the SW store (40 miles one way) I'll take the left over paint and see if they'll work with me. I'm also going to test the Soulmate and possibly the Expressive Plum colors. I'm open to suggestions tho!!! I don't see how you can make an educated choice unless you paint all 4 walls since the same paint can be multiple colors at the same time. I never noticed the med chocolate brown color I had before this being that way. I have not tried the Reveal bulbs yet. I looked for them at WM a few days ago and didn't find any. I have to drive 40 miles one way to get to any other stores :o

Was thinking pattern on the rattan chair/ottoman and solid grey on the daybed with pops of pillows of the same colors as in the fabric...orange, teal, etc...different shapes and sizes on the daybed...or I could reverse the two...since the main thing your eye will see from the kitchen/living room is the daybed...

@Jennifer Hogan We have compared SW's sample for Simply White with the sample we got from Home Depot for the Simply White (that we also have painted on the wall), as well as the trim that is from Kelly Moore (a local store) in Simply White. It "simply" doesn't match (pun intended). Honestly, the difference is so substantial that I can't fathom how they could consider it a match. The cheaper stuff from Home Depot is actually a much closer match than SW even got close to. Kelly Moore is the best match. SW tried today to match it closer and still failed. So, we are going to go back to Kelly Moore and pay a bit extra to get another sample in the eggshell (trim is semi-gloss) and compare it. Near certain it will be the homerun since they got it right on the trim, zero hint of green and all the trim has been painted throughout the house. I do appreciate it though & completely understand. I can even understand certain times of the day seeing more color but there is such a difference that my husband, who rarely notices colors, immediately asked why the walls were green and the trim was not. He thought I had bought 2 different colors of paint completely! It has been quite the saga. Long story short, the best thing to do when dealing with whites is to pick a color of white from the company you are using so that you know you'll be getting exactly what you pick, and not what they 'promise' they can match!

the website mentioned above (easyrgb.com) is super helpful! I did try the SW website but the colors are so distorted it wasn't helpful. I had a interior designer friend pick a couple possibilities too (through text!), but needed it narrowed down more. I think the website Hue & Home provided will help.

Hmmm, I think the ColorSnap is fairly accurate considering you are looking at it on your phone! At least it’s a starting point. Do ask to barrow a fan deck though.

I will say that the colors on my computer were not very accurate - but I am sure some monitors are better than others. I am very picky and color sensitive and we ended up with a custom color ...not sure how happy those salespeople will be to see me - but I thought they did great!

They are wonderful here too Kris. I was there just the other day and they were working so hard to accommodate everyone through all of this! Nothing is as good as seeing the color in your own space under your own lighting conditions! Even if you have to buy a fan deck it’s worth the investment for now and the future!

True - those fan decks are awesome Although my hubby may not be so thrilled as now I have even more projects in mind, I can feel him cringe when I bring it into the room.

yeah...that made me go "ugh"...but that was the problem with them online. the greens look really "tropical" online, but not in reality. going to get some swatches and samples.
