It is very possible that when you put the camera in the waterproof box, its white balance went awry due to the filtering of the box lens, You also mentioned 'film'. Poor photo results from film photos are common these days, but not because of bad film; Its often due to bad processing. In my area, we are down to one processor. If your film gets processed some time after 8 am on Monday, usually its the best quality of the week. Later in the week, it becomes muddy. Why? This lab starts Monday morning with fresh chemicals in its vats and they are loath to change the vats as often as they should. The make do with makeup replenishment. Depending on how much film they have to process, the baths may get changed a couple of days after Monday, at which time re-newing their work. Results returned to the photo counter at your favorite store is mixed.

Thanks, Carol. I can see that now, and so I tried adding it again. Originally it would show up for me in the preview but then it would show as blank. I've been having a lot of trouble with Houzz for the past two or three days, especially with posting photos, links, and emojis. I might have to try a different browser - I'm using Firefox at the moment. ETA: Same problem when I tried using Chrome, and so that's not it!

A photo of my Dad’s oldesr sister and youngest brother, taken in 1933 according to the caption. This oak was along a stagecoach path near their home and was used to post notes.

Once upon a time her entire face and ears were completely black.
